Who can join my Barceló Benefits?
Barceló Hotel Group describes my Barceló Benefits as its international loyalty program, open and free of charge, made for private and independent clients who book on barceló.com and through its call center. [2] [3]
The eligibility rule the program states is age-based: participants must be legal adults who are registered in the my Barceló program via www.barceló.com or through Customer Service and Telephone Reservations. [3]
The account owner is the person expected to make the bookings that unlock the program's advantages, and that same person has to be the guest on the stay for the advantages to apply. [3]
Coverage is described by region rather than by hotel brand: the program applies to all Barceló Hotel Group hotels in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa and Asia, apart from Novo Resort The Residence Luxury Apartments by Barceló in Cádiz, Spain. [3] Barceló adds that although the benefits are global, adjustments or customizations — including exceptions to how benefits are applied — can vary from one hotel to another. [3] The program profile explains how the benefits differ between levels.
How do you enroll in my Barceló Benefits?
Registration is done online. Barceló's instruction is to open the my Barceló Benefits page, enter the information requested in the registration form labeled "I WANT TO JOIN MY BARCELÓ BENEFITS", and submit it. [3] The site promotes the program with a free "Join for free" prompt that appears both on barceló.com and inside the my Barceló Benefits area. [1] [2]
Once the account exists, Barceló recommends filling in the "MY DETAILS AND PREFERENCES" section, since those preferences set the frequency and type of communication and offers the member receives. [3]
The program is open and free of charge. [2] [3] Membership starts at the Essential level from the moment the account is created. [3] Moving to the higher levels depends on completed stays and accumulated spending, which the my Barceló Benefits profile sets out.
Afterwards the same login manages the account. A forgotten password can be reset with the "FORGOTTEN YOUR PASSWORD?" link by entering the registered email address, after which Barceló sends a new password by email. [3] Personal details are edited in the PROFILE section once logged in, and the account can be closed there too with the UNSUBSCRIBE button, which Barceló says deletes all information relating to the account. [3]
How are bookings counted after you join?
Joining does not attach earlier or third-party bookings to the account by itself. Barceló says bookings start posting to a my Barceló Benefits account once the customer has registered and has previously logged in or identified themselves as a my Barceló customer; only bookings made by the account holder through barceló.com or the call center, after logging in or identifying in my Barceló, are counted automatically toward the level calculation and applied benefits. [2] [3] A completed stay is added the day after check-out. [3]
Where a member booked directly but did not sign in, the booking can be imported to the account. [3] The conditions Barceló lists for an import are:
- the reservation was made on barceló.com or through the Barceló call center and checked out within the last 12 months [3];
- it belongs to a hotel in the current Barceló Hotel Group portfolio [3];
- the email on the reservation matches the email on the my Barceló Benefits account [3];
- it is a hotel-only reservation — flight-plus-hotel packages, and bookings made on other websites, through travel agencies or by other means, cannot be imported [3].
Barceló also asks members to confirm that the reservation is dated after March 25, 2015, because earlier bookings cannot be added. [3] Two or more reservations with consecutive dates at the same hotel count as a single stay, although the full amount spent still counts toward the accumulated spending total. [3]
Exceptions and limits
- The advantages follow the account holder as guest: if the account holder books for another person and does not stay at the hotel, the program does not apply to that stay. [3]
- When several rooms are booked, benefits apply only to the room where the account holder is staying. [3]
- Novo Resort The Residence Luxury Apartments by Barceló, in Cádiz, Spain, is outside the program. [3]
- Individual hotels may make adjustments or apply exceptions to how the benefits are delivered. [3]
- Joining does not change how stays are paid for: reservation invoices are charged to the card included in the reservation, and where there is no advance payment the balance is collected from the customer on arrival. [3]
Frequently asked questions
Is my Barceló Benefits free to join?
Yes. Barceló describes the program as open and free of charge, and registration goes through an online form on barceló.com. [2] [3]
Do you have to be a legal adult to join my Barceló Benefits?
Yes. Participants in the program must be legal adults registered on barceló.com or through Customer Service and Telephone Reservations. [3]
Do stays from before you joined count?
Only within limits. A direct booking made on barceló.com or through the call center can be imported if it checked out within the last 12 months, carries the same email as the account and is dated after March 25, 2015; flight-plus-hotel packages and bookings made through other websites or travel agencies cannot be imported. No. The account holder has to be the guest, and on multi-room bookings only the account holder's room receives the benefits. [3]
Which hotels take part in my Barceló Benefits?
All Barceló Hotel Group hotels in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa and Asia take part, except Novo Resort The Residence Luxury Apartments by Barceló in Cádiz, Spain. [3]
