Missing miles: how to request flight credit
First confirm the flight and fare were eligible and that the membership number was attached. Then collect the ticket and boarding evidence and use the programme’s post-flight claim process.
Check the likely cause first
- Open the account and check whether the activity is still pending.
- Confirm the membership number used at booking or check-in.
- Check the operating carrier, ticket stock, fare and booking class against the programme’s earning rules.
- Make sure the same flight was not credited to another programme; duplicate credit is usually not allowed.
Keep the evidence
Save the e-ticket receipt or itinerary, boarding pass, ticket number, flight number, travel date, route, cabin and booking class. Some claims ask for a document image; do not discard the original boarding pass until the credit appears.
Use the programme’s claim form
Wait the programme’s stated posting period, then file through its official missing-credit channel. A JAL example asks members to wait before applying and sets different timing for its own and partner flights. American Airlines’ current AAdvantage terms set a separate claim window. These examples are not deadlines for other programmes; check the account and programme terms for your flight.
Track the claim
Save the case number, date submitted and documents sent. If the claim is denied, compare the reason with the fare and partner conditions before contacting support. A receipt or booking confirmation by itself does not prove that a ticket was eligible for miles.
