Air New Zealand Koru

Air New Zealand distinguishes Airpoints used for rewards from Status Points for tier qualification. This profile summarizes the verified expiry and qualifying-flight scope; card and status-benefit exceptions remain programme-specific. This profile separates the balance you can spend from the measures used for elite status.

  1. Before a flight, check the marketing carrier, operating carrier, fare and booking class.
  2. Keep the redeemable balance separate from the status measure listed below.
  3. Before booking, check award availability, fees and change conditions in the programme’s current search.

Miles or points to spend

Airpoints are used for rewards; Status Points are a separate status measure. Airpoints are not automatically cash-equivalent.

Expiry

Ordinary Airpoints generally expire four years after joining, on the member’s anniversary date. Gold, Platinum and Black members receive protection while they hold the corresponding tier, subject to account terms.

Qualification notes

For the cited tier paths, a portion of the required Status Points must come from eligible flights. Card-earned Status Points do not satisfy that flight-earned portion; reward and status retention benefits have separate conditions.

What this profile does not establish

The checked source set does not establish these details: How flights earn, Elite status qualification. Use the current official programme terms for that rule; do not infer it from another airline.
