PROGRAMME PROFILE

Emirates Lounge: Programme Profile

Emirates Lounge, as this page uses the name, is the group of airport lounges Emirates lists for its passengers and Skywards members: First Class lounges, Business Class lounges and worldwide lounges, with partner lounges, paid lounge access and the marhaba lounge listed as separate items. [2] [3] [4] Entry is not one universal rule: some access is a Skywards tier benefit and some is bought as a product. [4] [5]

Facts checked: 18 October 2026

Key takeaways

  • Emirates lists First Class lounges, Business Class lounges and worldwide lounges in one group, and lists partner lounges, paid lounge access and the marhaba lounge as separate items rather than as part of it. [2] [3] [4]
  • The published tier benefits differ widely in reach: Silver includes complimentary Emirates Business Class lounge access for the member in Dubai, while Platinum includes complimentary access for the member and their guests in all Emirates First Class and Business Class lounges in Dubai and worldwide. [5]
  • Lounge entry can also be paid for, and on Emirates and flydubai flights Cash+Miles can be applied to Lounge Access (Emirates). [4]
  • Guests must be travelling on the same flight as the member, who either uses a complimentary guest entitlement or buys additional lounge access. [5]

How Emirates groups its lounges

Emirates' own navigation splits the offering into First Class lounge, Business Class lounge, Worldwide lounges, Partner Lounges, Paid lounge access and marhaba lounge. [2] [3] [4] The first three sit alongside the airline's other airport and inflight product pages, while partner lounges, paid access and the marhaba lounge are presented as their own items. [3] [4] That split matters for reading any entry rule: a lounge carrying the Emirates name and a partner lounge at an outstation are published on different pages and need not share the same entry test. Access through Skywards status

Emirates Skywards has four membership tiers, each with its own published list of privileges. [5] Silver is set at 25,000 Tier Miles, Gold at 50,000 Tier Miles, and Platinum at 150,000 Tier Miles plus at least one qualifying First or Business Class flight, a condition marked effective 1 April 2023. [5]

Silver. Silver privileges include complimentary Emirates Business Class lounge access "for you in Dubai". [5] The wording covers the member alone and is tied to Dubai rather than to the worldwide lounge list. [5]

Gold. Gold members are described as receiving all Blue and Silver tier benefits as well as their own, and the Gold summary adds bonus Miles and complimentary Economy Class seat selection rather than naming lounge access again. [5]

Platinum. Platinum privileges include complimentary lounge access for the member and their guests in all Emirates First Class and Business Class lounges in Dubai and worldwide. [5] This is the only tier whose published wording extends beyond Dubai and beyond the member travelling alone. [5]

Blue. The Blue privileges listed on the tier page cover instant upgrades, waitlist priority and inflight Wi-Fi, and do not include lounge access. [5]

Status-based access lasts as long as the tier does. Emirates reviews a member's tier 12 months after they move into it, and a member who does not meet that tier's Tier Miles requirement at review is downgraded. [5]

Guests and the same-flight rule

Guest access is tied to the member's tier and to the member's flight. Based on tier status, a member can invite guests who are travelling on the same flight to the lounge, using a complimentary guest access entitlement or by purchasing additional lounge access. [5] Platinum's published privilege names the member and their guests together for all Emirates First Class and Business Class lounges in Dubai and worldwide. [5]

Exceptions and limits

  • Silver is a Dubai entitlement. The Silver benefit is written for the member in Dubai, so it should not be read as a worldwide or a guest entitlement. [5]
  • Platinum needs a flight as well as Miles. The 150,000 Tier Miles requirement is paired with at least one qualifying First or Business Class flight, effective 1 April 2023. [5]
  • Status can lapse. Tier privileges run for 12 months from the date a member qualifies, and a member who falls short at review is downgraded, which ends the lounge benefit attached to that tier. [5]
  • Partner and marhaba lounges sit apart.
  • Not published.
