Airline programme guide · official-source facts

China Eastern programme

This profile describes China Eastern’s frequent-traveller programme. Earning, status and expiry rules vary by airline group and activity type, so a single distance-based estimate may not fit every flight. This profile separates the balance you can spend from the measures used for elite status.

  1. Before a flight, check the marketing carrier, operating carrier, fare and booking class.
  2. Keep the redeemable balance separate from the status measure listed below.
  3. Before booking, check award availability, fees and change conditions in the programme’s current search.

How flights earn

Earning can use several factors, including spend. China Eastern, Shanghai Airlines, China United and partner flights have separate rules; a single distance percentage does not describe every flight.

Miles or points to spend

The programme’s redeemable balance is recorded as points.

Elite status qualification

Status uses qualifying flights or miles together with eligible spend. Since 2025, the cited programme guide evaluates qualification over a rolling 12-month period.

Expiry

From 1 September 2021, account activity can move eligible balances through a rolling 36-month validity window. Legacy balances and promotional points may follow different dates.
