Key takeaways

- The benefits Qantas lists include complimentary lounge invitations, Status Credits on Classic Flight Rewards, a $50 Qantas Wine voucher and a $50 Qantas Hotels voucher. [3]
- Points Club and Points Club Plus also lift the Qantas Points earned on hotel stays booked through qantas.com/hotels, by 25% and 50% respectively. [3]
- The programme is time-limited: Qantas Loyalty retires it on 8 December 2026, and members who hold either level on or before that date keep their benefits until the end of their next membership year. [3]
How does Qantas Points Club work?
Points Club sits inside Qantas Frequent Flyer membership. The qualifying measure is Qantas Points earned in a membership year, and Qantas names 150,000 Qantas Points as the figure that makes a member eligible for the programme's benefits. [3]
Two levels are described on Qantas's own earning pages: Points Club and Points Club Plus. Points Club Plus carries a larger version of the same benefits, including two Qantas Wine vouchers rather than one and a bigger increase on hotel earning. [3]
Because qualification is measured in Qantas Points, the ordinary earning channels feed into it. Qantas groups them as flights, hotels and accommodation, credit cards, banking and home loans, everyday shopping, insurance, home utilities, car, and holidays and experiences, and says members can earn with over 500 partners. [1] [3] For the non-flying side of that list, see earning Qantas Points without flying.
These rules are the ones Qantas publishes for its Australian programme. Qantas Frequent Flyer membership is required to earn and use Qantas Points, a joining fee may apply, and membership and points are subject to the Qantas Frequent Flyer terms and conditions. [1] [2]
What benefits do Points Club and Points Club Plus members get?
Qantas lists the Points Club benefits as complimentary lounge invitations, Status Credits on Classic Flight Rewards, a $50 Qantas Wine voucher, a $50 Qantas Hotels voucher, and more. [3] The wine element scales with the level. [3]
| Level | Qantas Wine vouchers |
|---|---|
| Points Club | One $50 voucher [3] |
| Points Club Plus | Two $50 vouchers [3] |
Vouchers are issued to My account within 21 days of qualifying, are not transferable, and are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. [3] For a member who qualifies for the first time, or at their next membership year, the vouchers are issued within the same 21-day window. [3]
How much more do Points Club members earn on Qantas Hotels bookings?
Qantas Frequent Flyer members normally earn 3 Qantas Points per A$1 spent on hotel stays booked through qantas.com/hotels, excluding Classic Hotel Rewards and Airbnb bookings; Points Club members earn 25% more Qantas Points and Points Club Plus members earn 50% more. [3]
| Level | Earn rate |
|---|---|
| Qantas Frequent Flyer member (standard) | 3 Qantas Points per A$1 spent [3] |
| Points Club | 25% more Qantas Points [3] |
| Points Club Plus | 50% more Qantas Points [3] |
Points are credited within 8 weeks of hotel check-out and are earned on cash-only purchases and on the cash component of Points Plus Pay purchases on eligible bookings. [3] They are not earned on cancelled or refunded bookings, and the member in whose name the booking is made is the one who earns them. [3] No points are earned on additional charges paid to the accommodation provider for extras such as cots, breakfasts and other incidentals, whether at check-in or check-out. [3] Deposit Pay is available on selected properties whose free cancellation window ends 21 days or more after the booking date. [3]
Exceptions and limits
- The programme has an end date. From 8 December 2026, Qantas Loyalty will retire the Points Club Program; a member who has retained or attained Points Club or Points Club Plus on or before 8 December 2026 remains entitled to the benefits from the time they unlocked the level until the end of their next membership year. [3]
- Voucher conditions. Each Qantas Wine voucher is single-use only, any remaining balance not used in that transaction is forfeited, the voucher must be entered manually at checkout and vouchers cannot be combined; the voucher cannot be used to buy beer or premix products. [3]
- Where the vouchers can be used. Members who reside in the Northern Territory are not eligible for the Qantas Wine voucher, and Qantas Wine orders can only be delivered to addresses within Australia, with certain locations in the Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia excluded from delivery. [3] To buy from Qantas Wine a member must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer member, 18 or over, and have an Australian delivery address. [3]
- Excluded hotel bookings. The 3 Qantas Points per A$1 rate, and therefore the Points Club uplift on it, excludes Classic Hotel Rewards and Airbnb bookings. [3]
- Membership still required. You must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer member to earn and use Qantas Points, a joining fee may apply, and membership and points are subject to the programme terms and conditions. [1] [2]
