What it works out
The value you get per point on one redemption is the cash price you avoid, minus the taxes and fees you still pay on the award, divided by the points you spend. The result is shown in hundredths of the currency you entered, so with US dollars it reads as cents per point.
The figure applies to that one booking only. It is not an official value set by any programme. Compare it with what the points would buy elsewhere, or with what they cost you to earn.
How to use it
- Look up the cash price for the exact flight or hotel night you would book with points.
- Enter the taxes, fees or surcharges the award booking still charges.
- Enter the number of points or miles the award costs. The result updates as you type.
