How to Book Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards Awards

Points, partners and where to search

When Atmos Rewards launched, Mileage Plan members became Atmos Rewards members with their existing account numbers, Mileage Plan miles were renamed points, and elite-qualifying miles became status points. [7] The conversion was set at one Mileage Plan or HawaiianMiles mile to one Atmos Rewards point, and Alaska states that points do not expire. [7] HawaiianMiles members and all their miles moved across automatically on 1 October. [7]

Points can be redeemed for award travel to more than 1,000 destinations on Alaska, Hawaiian and more than 30 global airline partners, including oneworld airlines. [7] Atmos Rewards is the loyalty programme for Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, and Alaska and Hawaiian are members of the oneworld alliance. [6] The published booking instructions name only two places to search: alaskaair.com and hawaiianairlines.com. [5]

Redemption is not the only way the programme treats an award ticket: Alaska says members can also earn status points when they book award travel. [7]

Step by step: searching and selecting

Alaska publishes three steps for booking award travel with Atmos Rewards points. [5]

1. Select “use points” when searching for a flight on alaskaair.com or hawaiianairlines.com. [5]
2. The award fare will show up in the search results. [5]
3. Select an award flight of your choice. [5]

The sequence matters: the point-pricing option is chosen before the search runs, and the priced results arrive in the same list a cash search would produce rather than in a separate award tool. [5] During the October 2026 promotion described below, Alaska described the cheaper price as a discounted award fare that appears in the search results. [5]

What an award costs

Atmos Rewards redemptions start at 4,500 points one-way. [7]

For its October 2026 Global Getaways, Atmos Rewards advertised one-way award travel to six destinations at these starting prices: Seoul from 20,000 points; Helsinki, Paris and Munich from 25,000 points; and Sapporo and Stavanger from 30,000 points. [5] Each of those is published as a “one-way starting at” price for the promotion, not as a fixed price on every date. [5]

Discounted fares and Members Day

Atmos Members Day is held on the first Wednesday of every month and is where Atmos Rewards shares exclusive travel offers, premium partner benefits, programme updates, new Unlocked experiences and Global Getaways. [6] Members receive each edition by email after updating their communication preferences in their Atmos Rewards account. [5]

The October 2026 edition offered members up to 50% off award travel to six winter destinations — Helsinki, Munich, Paris, Sapporo, Seoul and Stavanger — with bookings required by 10 October 2026 for travel between 15 January and 8 March 2027. [5] Those two dates pull in opposite directions, so the offer is not a guide to prices for the rest of the year: the booking deadline was in October 2026 while the travel window runs into March 2027. [5]

Exceptions and limits

• Promotional conditions. The October 2026 Global Getaways prices applied only to bookings made by 10 October 2026 for travel between 15 January and 8 March 2027. [5]
• The earning choice does not change redemption. Alaska says the option introduced on 1 October 2026 “only affects how members earn points and status points on flights”, that a member’s choice applies to all Alaska, Hawaiian and partner flights, and that credit card and partner earning stays the same. [4]
• Timing of the earning choice. That choice applies to flights departing on or after 1 January 2027; members can change it once per calendar year for future trips, and no change applies to travel already completed. [4] [6]
• New members. Members joining Atmos Rewards on or after 1 January 2027 earn on price paid unless they select an alternate method. [4] [6]
• Partner awards. Points can be redeemed with more than 30 global airline partners including oneworld. [7]
