Booking multiple hotel rooms: separate points from elite-night credit
Paying for several rooms does not necessarily earn several sets of points or qualifying nights. Read the programme’s multiple-room rule and arrange the folio correctly.
Separate the credit types
A programme may award base points on eligible spend for more than one room while counting elite qualifying nights or stay credit for only one room. Bonus points, promotional credit and elite-night credit can each follow a different rule.
A Hilton example
Hilton’s current FAQ says a member may earn base points for up to four eligible rooms when the charges are paid together on one folio requested at check-in. The same FAQ says elite night or stay credit is limited to one room for the same member and duration. Check the current page before relying on this example; it is not a universal hotel rule.
Before you book
- Confirm the eligible booking channel and rate for every room.
- Ask the property how to place all earning rooms on the required folio.
- Make sure the member will be an eligible guest and meet any payment conditions.
- Check whether each room can earn base points, elite bonus points and promotion credit.
- Do not assume that one reservation, one payment or several room keys determine the number of qualifying nights.
At checkout and after the stay
Review the folio before leaving and keep the itemized copies for each room. After the programme’s posting window, compare the points and status ledgers separately. If a credit is missing, submit the correct folio and identify which room and credit type are involved.
