Travel booked through FROSCH by Chase Travel, Valerie Wilson Travel by Chase Travel or Frosch International Travel LLC does not earn the 5-point Chase Travel rate and earns 2 points per $1 instead. [1] Purchases that qualify for the $100 Chase Travel Hotel Credit do not earn points at all. [1]

Two temporary boosts sit on top of those rates as of the card page: 5 points per $1 on Lyft rides through 30 September 2027, which is 3 additional points on top of the 2 travel points, and 5 points per $1 on eligible Peloton equipment and accessory purchases over $150 made directly through Peloton through 31 December 2027, capped at $5,000 in total purchases, with gift cards, apparel and purchases outside the United States excluded. [1]

What is the annual fee and what credits come with the card?

The annual fee is $95. [1] There is no foreign transaction fee on purchases made outside the United States. [1]

  • $100 Chase Travel Hotel Credit. A statement credit is applied automatically to hotel accommodation bought through Chase Travel, up to $100 in an account anniversary year, which runs from the account open date to the first statement date after the anniversary and then through each 12 monthly billing cycles. [1] Chase may reverse the credit if the purchase is returned, cancelled or modified, or if the account is closed within 90 days of the credit. [1]
  • Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS credit. One statement credit of up to $120 every four years covers an application fee for one of those three programmes only, on purchases made directly with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, an eligible partner listed on ttp.cbp.dhs.gov or an authorised enrolment provider listed on tsa.gov; purchases through travel agencies or application assistance services are excluded. [1]
  • Apple TV. A year of complimentary Apple TV is available when the benefit is activated by 31 December 2026. [1]
  • DoorDash DashPass. A complimentary DashPass membership, described as a $120 value for 12 months, can be activated by 31 December 2029, and members also receive a $10 monthly promotion on one qualifying non-restaurant DoorDash order. [1]

The card page also lists travel and purchase protections, including trip cancellation and interruption cover of up to $10,000 per covered traveller and $20,000 per trip, trip delay cover of up to $500 per covered traveller when common carrier travel is delayed more than 12 hours or requires an overnight stay, baggage delay cover of up to $100 a day for up to five days when baggage is delayed more than six hours, and primary auto rental collision coverage of up to $60,000 for vehicles with an MSRP of $125,000 or less. [1] These protections apply when the card is used for the purchase and carry restrictions, time limits and documentation requirements set out in the Guide to Benefits. [1]

How do Ultimate Rewards point transfers work?

Cardholders can move points into frequent travel programmes; the card page names the partners below. [1]

The mechanics come from the Ultimate Rewards programme agreement published with the Ink Business Preferred card. [2] Under that agreement, points transfer in 1,000-point increments, only into participating frequent travel programme accounts belonging to the cardholder or, in the business version, an owner of the company listed as an authorised user. [2] A transfer fee may be charged, and Chase says it discloses whether a fee applies and how much before the transfer is made. [2]

Most transfer requests process by the next business day but can take up to seven business days. [2] The details supplied must match the records held by the receiving programme, and differences may delay or block a transfer. [2] Once points are transferred they cannot be refunded or the transaction cancelled, and they then fall under the receiving programme's own rules, for which Chase states it is not responsible. [2] The list of participating programmes can change without notice. [2] The Sapphire Preferred page says redemption values for reward options vary, while the programme agreement values cash, gift card and travel redemptions at one cent per point. [1] [2]

Exceptions and limits

  • Bonus eligibility. The 75,000-point new cardmember bonus requires $5,000 in purchases in the first three months from account opening and takes six to eight weeks to post after qualifying; balance transfers, cash advances, cash-like transactions, person-to-person money transfers, interest, fees and fraudulent charges do not count as purchases. [1] The card is unavailable to applicants who already have it open, and the bonus may not be available to anyone who previously held the card or received its bonus; Chase may also consider how many cards an applicant has opened and closed. [1]
  • Offers vary. Chase states that offers may vary depending on where you apply, for example online or in a branch, and can change over time. [1]
  • Losing points. Points do not expire while the account is open, but they are lost immediately if the account status changes or the account is closed for programme misuse, fraud or other listed reasons, and Chase says it will not reinstate them unless it has made an error. [1] [2] If an account is closed for any other reason, the cardholder has at least 30 days from the closure date to use the points. [2]
  • New York residents. Auto rental coverage inside the United States is secondary to personal automobile insurance, lost luggage reimbursement is limited to $2,000 per bag and $10,000 for all covered travellers per trip, and purchase protection runs for 90 days rather than 120. [1]
  • Benefit deadlines. Apple TV activation closes on 31 December 2026 and DashPass activation on 31 December 2029; closing or changing the card to an ineligible card ends the Apple TV benefit. [1]
