How Delta's rules name the lounge

Delta's SkyMiles membership guide and program rules state that all benefits offered in the SkyMiles program are conditioned on the member's acceptance of, and compliance with, that guide and those rules, the Terms of Use, the contract of carriage, the fare rules and Delta's other applicable rules and regulations. [3] Within that list, the rules name Delta Sky Club and Delta One Lounge House Rules as documents a member must follow. [3]

The same rules give Delta the sole right to interpret and apply the membership guide and program rules, and say that, unless otherwise stated, the rules in effect at the time of travel or of a request for a benefit or other transaction govern that transaction. [3] The programme documents also state that those rules and other terms are subject to change at any time. [3]

"Delta One" also appears in the program rules as a cabin name rather than as a lounge. In the Medallion Qualification Dollar provisions, Delta says MQDs will not be awarded for complimentary access to Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta First, Delta Comfort and Preferred Seats. [3] That passage concerns earning towards Medallion Status on flights and says nothing about lounge entry. [3]

Because Delta states that it alone interprets the programme rules and that the terms can change, readers should check Delta's current terms rather than rely on a secondary summary of the lounge. [3]

Delta One Lounge and Delta Sky Club

Delta's rules treat the two lounges as separate named sets of house rules, referring to "Delta Sky Club or Delta One Lounge House Rules" in one list of documents a member must comply with. [3]

Delta Sky Club also appears in the rules as something a member can buy. Delta lists Delta Sky Club memberships, and Delta Sky Club food and beverage purchases, among the ancillary purchases and fees that do not count towards earning miles or Medallion Qualification Dollars. [3] The MQD terms repeat that Delta Sky Club memberships are excluded from MQD earning. [6]

Limits and enforcement

• Compliance is a condition of the programme: Delta says all SkyMiles benefits depend on acceptance of and compliance with its membership guide, program rules, contract of carriage, fare rules and other Delta rules, which include the lounge house rules. [3]
• Delta reserves the right to terminate a membership — including Medallion Status, Million Miler qualification and 360 Program invitations or participation — if a member violates those rules, including Delta Sky Club or Delta One Lounge House Rules. [3] Instead of termination, Delta may at its discretion deduct mileage and allow the member to keep participating. [3]
• Termination removes all accumulated mileage credit in the account, cancels unused award tickets and upgrade certificates, and removes other SkyMiles benefits; terminated members may not reopen an account. [3]
