How to use Rapid Rewards miles

  1. Keep the redeemable balance separate from any status measure listed on this page.
  2. Before a flight, check the operating airline, marketing airline, fare and booking class against the programme earning rules.
  3. Before moving points or booking an award, check current availability, taxes, fees and change conditions on the official site.
  4. Review the expiry rule and the programme terms for account-specific exceptions.

  • Overview: Join Rapid Rewards to earn points usable for any seat, any time; no blackout dates; points don’t expire.
  • T&Cs: Membership for individual travelers only; enroll separately; no pooling points across Members; corporations/groups generally may not enroll; one account; legal name must match government photo ID; parent/guardian confirms if Member is a minor.

Earning & using

Earn

Official How to Earn (prior deepen): points via Southwest flights, Rapid Rewards credit/debit cards, hotels and partners. Estimator (guide only) shows base fare examples: Choice Extra 14 / Choice Preferred 10 / Choice 6 / Basic 2 PTS per dollar; A-List +25% / A-List Preferred +100% on qualifying flights. T&Cs: taxes/fees generally not eligible; nonrevenue / reward / e-pass / Companion Pass travel not eligible to earn.

  • Book with points: log in on Southwest.com → enter itinerary → view fares in points → select → checkout. Points required track the cash fare (sale fares → fewer points).

  • More Rewards: merchandise; 70,000+ hotels; gift cards; experiences; Cardmember Access Events; Pay Yourself Back® statement credits for Cardmembers.
