How to use Bilt Rent Day: bonuses and limits
Bilt Rent Day is a monthly Bilt Rewards promotion held on the first day of each month, when Bilt releases limited-time benefits such as transfer bonuses, neighborhood dining experiences and a chance to win free rent. [1] Bilt Rewards members also earn Bilt Points on rent and mortgage payments through the programme, and Rent Day offers are limited-time benefits offered alongside that regular earning. [1] [2]

Key takeaways
- Bilt Rent Day takes place on the 1st of each month and features limited-time benefits; Bilt’s examples include transfer bonuses, neighborhood dining experiences and a chance to win free rent. [1]
- Bilt sets the number of Bonus Points and any other terms at the time of each offer, so caps and eligible transactions come from the individual offer. [2]
- Promotional Bonus Points are excluded from Qualifying Points for Bilt tier status, which is calculated from rent, mortgage and other eligible spend. [2]
- Bilt Rewards is open only to legal US residents in the 50 states, DC and US territories who are at least 18 and of legal age, with one account per person. [2]
What is Bilt Rent Day and when does it happen?
Bilt Rent Day is a recurring monthly event in the Bilt Rewards programme. On the 1st of each month, Bilt says it releases limited-time benefits, giving transfer bonuses, neighborhood dining experiences and a chance to win free rent as examples. [1] Bilt lists Rent Day benefits alongside earning Bilt Points on on-time rent payments and free rent reporting to Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. [1]
Bilt describes the benefits as limited-time, and its examples show that Rent Day can include travel-related and neighborhood offers. [1] The programme’s currency is Bilt Points, which members can earn on rent and mortgage payments and through promotional Bonus Points. [1] [2]
Who can take part in Bilt Rent Day?
Bilt Rewards is offered only to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia and US territories who are at least 18 years old and have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of legal residence. [2] Only individuals can participate, each individual may maintain only one account, and corporations, groups and associated entities cannot enrol. [2] Bilt reserves the right to limit the number of members in the programme. [2]
A member must create a Bilt Rewards Membership Account before taking advantage of an offer in order to be eligible to earn Bonus Points. [2] Bilt says targeted offers may be made available to particular members based on factors such as spending patterns, location or participation history, and those offers are not transferable. [2]
How does Bilt Rewards earning work alongside Rent Day?
Bilt Rent Day runs alongside the regular earning rules for rent and mortgage payments. Under the Bilt Rewards Terms & Conditions last updated 14 July 2026, rent payments made through the Bilt app or website without a Bilt Card earn up to 250 Points per monthly rent payment when paid by ACH, debit card, peer-to-peer provider such as Venmo, flexible payment solution such as Livble or Flex, or a credit card that is not a Mastercard, Visa, American Express or Discover card. [2]
Rent paid with a Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover credit card, including Venmo where the funding instrument is a credit card, earns 1 Point per $2 spent. [2] Points are not earned on rent payment fees, including fees assessed by peer-to-peer providers or flexible payment solutions. [2] The rent offer cannot be combined with other benefits or promotions specific to rent spend on the Bilt app or website using other non-Bilt Card credit cards, such as the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature 3X Rent Spend Benefit. [2]
| Payment | Method | Earning rate |
|---|---|---|
| Rent | ACH, debit card, peer-to-peer provider, flexible payment solution, or a credit card that is not Mastercard, Visa, American Express or Discover | Up to 250 Points per monthly Rent payment |
| Rent | Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover credit card, including Venmo funded by a credit card | 1 Point per $2 spent |
| Mortgage | ACH | 100 Points per contractual Mortgage Payment |
| Mortgage | Debit card | 250 Points per contractual Mortgage Payment |
| Mortgage | Mastercard credit card that is not a Bilt Card | 1 Point per $2 spent |
Mortgage payments follow separate rules. Bilt defines a contractual Mortgage Payment as the monthly amount contractually due under the loan as determined by the mortgage servicer; a payment that bundles that amount with extra principal, escrow or other amounts in one transaction can qualify, but a payment consisting only of extra principal, escrow or other amounts does not. [2] Mortgage payments may be submitted only up to 30 days before the contractual due date, and earlier payments do not earn points. [2] Members with more than one mortgage loan may earn points on the contractual payment for each eligible loan. [2]
Members who have a Bilt Card earn Points according to the Bilt Rewards Card Offer Terms; if the cardholder agreement and the Programme Rules conflict on earning, the cardholder agreement controls. [2]
How are Rent Day bonuses and caps set?
Bilt sets the number of Bonus Points and any other terms at the time of each offer. [2] Its terms say that when Bilt offers a way to earn Bonus Points through the programme or a third-party partner, the member finds out how many Bonus Points can be earned and any other conditions at the time of the offer, and those additional terms become part of the agreement. [2]
A cap, eligible transaction requirement or partner condition is therefore part of the individual offer terms. [2] Bilt’s general definition of an Eligible Transaction, for linked-card offers, is a purchase using a linked card that meets the terms of the offer at a Participating Merchant, and it excludes cash withdrawals, cash advances, card check transactions and instant loans. [2]
To earn Bonus Points, a member must have a Membership Account before taking advantage of the offer. [2] Bilt says it honours offers based on data it receives from third-party partners, and that a new offer activation can be delayed when a qualifying purchase occurs. [2] Members are advised to check their Membership Account and Bilt emails to confirm offer status. [2]
Points are considered earned when they post to the member account, after qualifying purchases, rent or mortgage payments and any Bonus Points, minus returns or refunds. [2] If returns or refunds exceed the points earned, Bilt deducts the associated Points and the balance can become negative. [2]
What are the exceptions and limits of Bilt Rent Day?
- Tier status. Tier Status through Qualifying Points is based on Points from rent spend, mortgage payment spend and non-rent/non-mortgage spend, and explicitly excludes non-spend Bonus Points such as incremental campaign Bonus Points. [2] The thresholds are Blue below 50,000 Points, Silver from 50,000 to 124,999, Gold from 125,000 to 199,999 and Platinum at 200,000 or more in a calendar year. [2]
- Excluded card transactions. Bilt Card transactions that do not count toward Tier Status include balance transfers, cash advances, cash withdrawals, card checks, instant loans, travelers checks, money orders, wire transfers, prepaid cards, gift cards, person-to-person payments such as Venmo, PayPal, Cash App or Zelle, tax payments except property taxes included as Bilt Housing Payments, cryptocurrency, fees and interest, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers and checks. [2]
- Account inactivity. Bilt defines an Inactive Account as one with no activity for 18 months; activity includes rent or mortgage payments, qualified Bilt Card purchases, redemptions and participation in a Bilt promotional sweepstakes. [2] The terms say a member immediately loses all points if the account becomes inactive or is closed for reasons that include breach of the agreement, bankruptcy, fraud or misuse. [2]
- Changes to terms. Bilt may change the programme and its terms at any time, and promises 45 days’ prior notice for changes that add or increase fees, change the rate at which Points are earned, limit the number of Points a member can earn, change bank partners or cancel the programme. [2]
