New to Bilt Rewards? Bilt Rewards Card: Terms, Earning and Transfer Partners
PROGRAMME PROFILE
Bilt Rewards: rent points, tiers and transfer partners
Bilt Rewards is a US loyalty programme that awards Bilt Points for rent and mortgage payments made through its platform, for spending on a Bilt co-branded credit card, and for purchases with partner merchants; members can spend points through a Bilt travel portal, transfer them to airline and hotel programmes, or use them on everyday items. [1] [2]
Facts checked: 18 October 2026
Key takeaways
- Rent and mortgage payments made through Bilt earn points at rates that depend on the payment method, and no points are earned on the payment fees themselves. [2]
- Bilt's site says points can be transferred 1:1 to its airline and hotel partners, and lists 17 airline and 7 hotel transfer partners. [1]
- There are four tiers — Blue, Silver, Gold and Platinum — earned either through Qualifying Points or through a spend-based Fast Track, with the higher of the two applying. [2]
- Points do not expire while an account is open and active, but 18 months without qualifying activity makes an account inactive and Bilt says all points are then lost. [2]
How members earn points
Rent. For rent paid through the Bilt app or website without a Bilt Card, the terms set out two rates: rent paid by ACH, debit card, peer-to-peer providers such as Venmo where the funding instrument is not a credit card, flexible payment solutions such as Livble and Flex, or a credit card outside the Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover networks earns up to 250 points per monthly rent payment; rent paid with a card in those four networks, including Venmo funded by a credit card, earns 1 point per $2 spent. [2] Points are not earned on rent payment fees, including fees charged by peer-to-peer providers or flexible payment solutions. [2] Members living in Bilt's property network pay in their resident portal, while members outside it can use BillPay to earn points on rent at any home. [1]
Mortgage. For mortgage payments not made with a Bilt Card, ACH payments earn a flat 100 points per contractual payment, debit card payments earn a flat 250 points, and payments on a Mastercard credit card that is not a Bilt Card earn 1 point per $2. [2] Points are earned per qualifying contractual payment per loan rather than per calendar month, and a member with more than one mortgage loan can earn on each eligible loan. [2] A payment that bundles the contractual amount with extra principal or escrow still qualifies, but a payment consisting only of additional principal, escrow or other amounts does not. [2] Payments submitted more than 30 days before the contractual due date are not eligible. [2]
Card and partner spending. Members holding a Bilt Card earn according to the separate Bilt Rewards Card Offer Terms, and the cardholder agreement controls where it conflicts with the programme rules on earning. [2] Bilt also offers Bonus Points through promotions and third-party partners, with the amount and conditions set out at the time of each offer. [2] Its site describes Neighborhood Benefits at a network of more than 50,000 merchants, including up to 3X points at local restaurants, up to 2X at Walgreens and extra points on Lyft rides. [1]
Status tiers
Tier status can be earned two ways, and a member receives the higher of the two results. [2] Under Qualifying Points, Blue covers fewer than 50,000 points earned in a calendar year, Silver 50,000 to 124,999, Gold 125,000 to 199,999, and Platinum 200,000 or more; Qualifying Points are based on rent, mortgage and other spending on the account and exclude Bonus Points such as referral, courtesy, prize, campaign and survey points. [2] Under the Fast Track, the thresholds for Blue, Silver, Gold and Platinum are framed in dollars spent on the Bilt Card excluding rent and mortgage, in the Bilt Travel Portal, at Bilt Dining restaurants with a linked card, on Lyft rides booked with Bilt set as the active loyalty partner, on SoulCycle classes booked through Bilt, and at other merchants Bilt identifies. [2]
Status earned at any point lasts for the rest of that calendar year, all of the following year and through 15 January of the year after; Bilt's example is status earned in 2025 being kept through 15 January 2027. [2] Balance transfers, cash advances and similar cash-like transactions, gift cards, person-to-person payments, tax payments other than property taxes included in Bilt housing payments, cryptocurrency purchases, fees and interest do not count toward either path. [2]
Transfer partners and redemptions
Bilt's site says points can be used to book travel with any airline or hotel brand through its travel portal, which it describes as covering more than 500 airlines and 700,000 hotel properties, or transferred 1:1 to its partners. [1] The airline list is labelled as 17 partners and names United MileagePlus, Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, Southwest Rapid Rewards, British Airways Club, JAL Mileage Bank, Air France/KLM Flying Blue, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, Air Canada Aeroplan, Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles, Aer Lingus Aerclub, TAP Miles&Go and Iberia Plus; the hotel list is labelled as 7 partners and names Hilton Honors, World of Hyatt, Marriott Bonvoy, IHG Rewards Club, Accor Live Limitless, Wyndham Rewards and Preferred Hotels. [1]
The programme rules list transfers to travel programmes, rent, fitness and lifestyle partners, Bilt Home Collection goods and down payments on a mortgage as redemption options. [2] The site also shows everyday uses: paying with points toward student loans, a home down payment, rent credit, Lyft rides, Barry's classes and Amazon purchases, and gift cards for brands such as Airbnb, Starbucks, Apple and Walmart. [1] Redemption values vary, minimum and maximum amounts may apply, and a completed redemption is final unless stated otherwise at the time. [2] On the first of each month Bilt runs Rent Day benefits, which it describes as limited-time offers that can include transfer bonuses. [1]
Exceptions and limits
- Who can join. The programme is open to legal residents of the 50 US states, the District of Columbia and US territories who are at least 18 and of the age of majority where they live; only individuals may enrol and each person may hold one account. [2]
- Inactivity and closure. An account with no activity for 18 months is inactive; activity means rent or mortgage payments, qualified Bilt Card purchases, any redemption or entry into a Bilt promotional sweepstakes. [2] Points are lost immediately if the account becomes inactive or is closed for reasons including breaches of the agreement, bankruptcy, fraud or misuse such as unauthorised buying or selling of points, and Bilt does not reinstate them unless it decides an error occurred. [2]
- End of the programme. If Bilt cancels the programme, members have at least 30 days from the cancellation date to use their points. [2]
- Payment fees. Transaction fees may apply to payments through the Bilt payment centre, can vary by payment method — credit card payments in particular may incur one — and may be waived through tier benefits or promotions at Bilt's discretion. [2]
- Combining offers. The rent and mortgage earning offers cannot be combined with other promotions specific to rent or mortgage spending on the Bilt platform using non-Bilt-Card credit cards, such as the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature 3X rent spend benefit, and points cannot be earned by using third-party wallets to switch the payment method after a purchase. [2]
- Notice of changes. Bilt gives 45 days' notice of adding or raising fees, changing earn rates, capping points earning, changing bank partners or cancelling the programme, but gives no notice when it changes what points can be redeemed for. [2]
- Verification. Some redemptions, including gift cards and transfers to certain partners, may require additional verification, and higher-value redemptions may need further steps. [2]
