How to pool Bilt Rewards with a household

Bilt Rewards household pooling covers how the Bilt Rewards programme treats people who share a home or want to combine points: membership is individual, and each individual may maintain only one Bilt Rewards account. [1] The programme also defines an authorized user as anyone the member legally authorizes to use the membership account, with the member staying responsible for how points are used. [1]

Key takeaways

  • Bilt Rewards enrols individuals rather than groups: only individuals are eligible, each individual may maintain one account, and corporations, groups or associated entities cannot enrol as members. [1]
  • An authorized user is anyone the member legally authorizes to use the membership account, and the member remains responsible for how points are used, including when an authorized user has access to them. [1]
  • Moving or transferring Bilt Points to an ineligible third party or account is one of the misuse examples that can cost a member all their points. [1]
  • Tier Status is worked out from the points a member earns, or the dollars a member spends through Fast Track, in a calendar year, and the higher of the two results applies. [1]

Does Bilt Rewards have household accounts?

Bilt Rewards membership is individual. Only individuals are eligible to participate, each individual may maintain only one account, and corporations, groups or associated entities cannot enrol as members. [1]

Eligibility is limited to legal residents of the fifty United States, the District of Columbia and US territories who are at least 18 years old and have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction. [1] The programme rules were last updated on 14 July 2026. [1]

Tier Status follows the same individual logic: it is calculated from qualifying points earned by the member in the current calendar year, or from Fast Track spend on eligible purchases in that year, and the member receives the higher of the two outcomes. [1]

Rent earning rates in the programme rules apply only to rent payments made through the Bilt app or website that are not made using a Bilt Card. Within that scope, rent paid by ACH, debit card, a peer-to-peer provider such as Venmo (except where the funding instrument is a credit card), a flexible payment solution, or any credit card outside the Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover networks earns up to 250 points per monthly rent payment, while rent paid with one of those four networks earns 1 point per $2. [1] Members who have a Bilt Card earn points according to the Bilt Rewards Card Offer Terms, and where the applicable Bilt Card Cardholder Agreement conflicts with the programme rules on earning points, the Cardholder Agreement controls. [1] Points cannot be earned on rent payment fees under this offer, including fees assessed by peer-to-peer providers or flexible payment solutions. [1]

What is an authorized user on a Bilt account?

Bilt defines an authorized user as anyone legally authorized by the member to use the member's membership account. [1] The member remains responsible for how points are used, including where an authorized user is allowed to access them. [1] Bilt also says it is not responsible for disputes about the programme between a member and an authorized user on the account. [1]

The membership itself cannot simply be handed over: the agreement may not be assigned to a third party without Bilt's prior written consent. [1] Targeted offers are also non-transferable and are intended solely for the member to whom they were originally made. [1]

Higher-value redemptions can require extra steps, because Bilt says gift cards and transfers to certain partners may be subject to additional verification requirements or limitations based on account standing, identity verification or other security measures. [1]

Can Bilt Points be pooled or moved between accounts?

Bilt Points can be redeemed for transfers to participating frequent travel programmes, rent, fitness and lifestyle partners, Bilt Home Collection goods, and a down payment on a mortgage, plus any other options Bilt adds over time. [1] Bilt's website describes transferring points 1:1 to its network of airline and hotel partners, which it lists as 17 airlines and 7 hotel groups. [2]

The rules treat movement of points between people as a risk area. Moving or transferring points to an ineligible third party or account is listed among the examples of misuse, alongside unauthorized buying or selling of points and repeatedly opening accounts to generate points or rewards. [1] If the account is closed for those reasons, the member loses all points immediately, regardless of when or how they were acquired. [1]

Points can also be lost through inactivity, since Bilt says points do not expire only while the account is open and active. [1]

Exceptions and limits

  • Inactivity. Points do not expire while the account is open and active, but an account with no activity for 18 months becomes inactive; activity means rent or mortgage payments through the account, qualified purchases on the co-brand credit card, any redemption of Bilt Points, or entry into a Bilt promotional sweepstakes. [1]
  • Closure. If an account is closed for any reason, the member loses all points immediately, and Bilt does not reinstate lost points unless it decides there has been an error. [1]
  • Enforcement. Bilt reserves the right to reject, revoke, cancel, terminate or suspend a membership, benefits or points if it believes the member has violated programme rules, abused the programme, or engaged in misconduct. [1]
  • Changes. Bilt gives 45 days' prior notice when it adds or increases fees, changes the rate at which points are earned, limits the number of points that can be earned, changes bank partners or cancels the programme, while other changes may be posted without that notice. [1]
  • Geography. The programme is offered only to legal residents of the fifty United States, the District of Columbia and US territories, and is void where prohibited by federal, state or local law. [1]
