How to redeem Brilliant by Langham points
Brilliant by Langham is the hotel loyalty program of Langham Hospitality Group, and members redeem its Award Points for two things: reward stays booked through the program's own channels, and bills settled on site at participating hotels and restaurants. [1] [2] All Award Points may be redeemed until 11 January 2028, the program's final redemption date. [1] [2]

Key takeaways
- Award Points are redeemed in two ways: for Reward Stays booked through the program's eligible channels, and for Non-Room Rewards paid on site at participating hotels and restaurants. [1] [2]
- A stay can be booked with points only or, where the program offers it, with a Points Plus Cash mix, and a member may redeem up to three rooms per night per stay. [1] [2]
- Reward Stays earn no Award Points or Status Points, stay redemptions are non-transferable, and all Award Points must be redeemed by 11 January 2028. [2]
How do you redeem Award Points for a hotel stay?
A member must hold enough Award Points for the reward chosen, and the required number of points is deducted from the membership account when the reward is redeemed. [2] Award Points can be put towards a Reward Stay or a Non-Room Reward. [2]
Reward Stays are booked through an Eligible Channel, which the terms define as the Brilliant website, the Brilliant Mobile Apps and participating business units. [2] The program's questions and answers page describes stay redemptions as made online while booking a stay. [1]
The number of Award Points a Reward Stay costs is set by the program and may vary with the brand, the location, the room type and the dates of stay, so the price is not fixed across the portfolio. [2] Every Reward Stay is subject to availability at the time of booking, and availability may be limited or unavailable at certain participating business units, on certain dates or for certain room types. [2] A reward reservation needs a valid credit card guarantee and is subject to the property's booking conditions, including cancellation, no-show, early departure and minimum stay rules. [2]
One member may redeem Award Points for up to three rooms per night per stay, provided all the reservations are in that member's name and the member is staying at the property for the whole stay with their guests. [2]
| Redemption | Where it is redeemed | Key condition |
|---|---|---|
| Points Only Stay | Through an Eligible Channel when booking [2] | Generally offered through designated redemption rate plans; taxes and service charges are included only where the booking terms say so [2] |
| Points Plus Cash Stay | Through an Eligible Channel when booking [2] | Selected properties, room types, dates and rate plans only, and only at the time of booking [2] |
| Non-Room Reward | On site at participating restaurants, bars and other outlets [1] [2] | Requested before payment; settled against the full value of the bill including taxes and service charges but not gratuities [2] |
Can you pay cash plus points for a reward stay?
Yes, where the option is offered. In a Points Plus Cash Stay, part of the room rate is met with Award Points and the rest is paid in cash or by another payment method the property accepts. [2] The program's questions and answers page confirms that eligible Reward Stays can be booked with a combination of Award Points and cash, subject to availability and the applicable booking conditions, and that the option appears during the booking process. [1]
These stays are available only at selected participating business units and for selected room types, dates or rate plans, and may be offered on a limited and conditional basis depending on rates, inventory and booking conditions. [2] The mix of points and cash is set by the program and may vary by property, rate, inventory and booking conditions. [2] A Points Plus Cash Stay must be taken when the booking is made where the option is shown, and cannot be added to an existing reservation afterwards. [2] Members are not entitled to a points-and-cash option on any particular reservation, rate, property or date. [2]
As with a points-only booking, the booking terms state whether taxes and service charges are included; anything not expressly stated as included is payable by the member. [2]
How do you spend points on dining and other bills?
Non-Room Rewards let a member settle all or part of a bill at a participating business unit with Award Points, other than a bill for a stay. [2] The member asks at the time of settling the bill, and in any case before paying, how many Award Points are needed, and then agrees to use them. [2] The questions and answers page describes this as on-site redemption in restaurants and bars. [1]
Award Points are redeemed against the full value of the bill, including taxes and service charges but not gratuities, and cannot be used together with discounts or promotional offers unless the program specifies otherwise. [2] At selected restaurants, bars and food and beverage outlets designated by the program, members may instead redeem Award Points against part of the bill and pay the balance with an accepted payment method. [2] The maximum value that can be redeemed in any one transaction is 5,000 U.S. dollars, converted to local currency where relevant. [2]
What limits and exceptions apply?
- No earning on redemptions. A Reward Stay is not a Qualifying Stay, and no Award Points or Status Points are earned on it, including on a Points Plus Cash Stay. [2] No Award Points, Status Points or Elite Bonus Points are earned on any transaction settled wholly or partly with Award Points. [2]
- No stacking. Award Points cannot be redeemed alongside other offers or promotions unless the program specifically permits it at the time of redemption, and rewards cannot be exchanged for cash. [2] Separately, the member dining discount cannot be used in the same transaction as an Award Point redemption, although the discount and point earning can be combined in one transaction. [2]
- Personal use only. Membership and points are non-transferable and may only be used by and for the member, so points cannot buy a room for someone else. [1] Reward Stays are non-transferable, and where several rooms are redeemed the member must occupy one of them for the whole stay. [2] Pooling points between members is not permitted. [2]
- Participating properties only. Benefits, including redeeming Award Points, are available at participating business units only; nothing can be earned or redeemed at a non-participating unit, even if a booking was made while it still participated. [2]
- Changes and cancellations. Modifying a Reward Stay may require canceling the original reservation and making a new one, subject to availability and the property's booking conditions. [2] Award Points put back into an account after a permitted cancellation keep their original expiry date. [2]
- Deadline and forfeiture. Award Points may be redeemed until 11 January 2028, and no Award Points may be earned on or after 12 January 2027. [1] [2] Points accumulated before a membership is terminated are forfeited. [2]
Frequently asked questions
Can I book a Brilliant by Langham reward stay for someone else?
No. Membership and all points are non-transferable and may only be used by and for the member. [1] Reward Stays are themselves non-transferable, and when several rooms are redeemed the member must occupy one of them. [2]
Do I earn points on a reward stay?
No. A Reward Stay is not a Qualifying Stay, so neither Award Points nor Status Points are earned on it, including where part of the bill is paid in cash. [2]
Can I use points to pay a restaurant bill and take the member dining discount at the same time?
Not in the same transaction: the member dining discount and an Award Point redemption cannot be used together. [2] A member can, however, take the dining discount and earn Brilliant Points in the same transaction. [2]
When do Brilliant by Langham Award Points stop being usable?
Award Points may be redeemed until 11 January 2028, the program's final redemption date. [1] [2] No Award Points may be earned on or after 12 January 2027. [2]
Is there a fixed number of points for a reward night?
The terms do not set one figure: the Award Points required are determined by the program and may vary with the brand, location, room type and dates of stay. [2]
