How to earn EVA Air Infinity MileageLands status

EVA Air Infinity MileageLands is the frequent flyer programme of EVA Air, and its status tiers — Green, Silver, Gold and Diamond — are earned either by collecting Status Miles on qualifying international flights or by completing a set number of qualifying EVA Air and UNI Air international flights within a 12-month period. [6]

Facts checked: 18 October 2026

Key takeaways

  • There are four tiers. Green is the joining level and is permanent, while Silver, Gold and Diamond are each valid for two years and must be renewed. [6]
  • Every upgrade is measured over a 12-month period spent in the tier below, and each tier has two routes: a Status Miles target or a count of qualifying EVA Air and UNI Air international flights. [6]
  • Renewal thresholds sit well above the upgrade thresholds — Silver needs 40,000 Status Miles to renew but 30,000 to upgrade. [6]
  • Status Miles are credited on EVA Air and UNI Air international flights and on Star Alliance partner airline flights, but Star Alliance flight sectors cannot be credited toward upgrades or renewals. [3] [6]

How do you upgrade to Silver, Gold and Diamond?

Green status requires an applicant aged 2 or above; applicants aged 2 to 12 need at least one guardian who is already a member. [6] The three higher tiers are earned from the tier directly below over a 12-month period during the current valid status. [6] The thresholds published as of 18 October 2026 are below. [6]

What does renewal require?

Renewal is assessed within the current card's own validity, and the targets are higher than the ones that earned the card. [6] At renewal, mileage and flight sectors from the previous membership period are deducted, so the new qualification accumulation starts from the beginning. [6]

How do EVA Air and Star Alliance flights count?

EVA Air runs two counters. Award Miles can be redeemed for tickets, cabin upgrades and other awards, while Status Miles are the miles that decide upgrades and renewals. [3] Status Miles are credited for travel on EVA Air and UNI Air international flights and on Star Alliance partner airline flights. [3]

On EVA Air and UNI Air international flights, the amount credited depends on the booking class, not only on the cabin. [3]

Diamond and Gold members also receive a bonus of 25% extra award miles on top of the class ratio, and Silver members receive 15%. [3] Accrual is based on the lower of the ticketed cabin and the cabin actually flown. [3] [4]

Star Alliance flying counts in one direction but not the other: partner flights generate Status Miles, while flight sectors of Star Alliance member airlines cannot be credited toward membership upgrades and renewals. [3] [6] The flight-count route therefore rests on qualifying EVA Air and UNI Air international flights. [6]

When does a new card start, and how long does it last?

A new card takes effect in the month after the qualifying travel and remains valid for two years. [6] Status Miles — not sectors — accumulated between reaching the upgrade and the new card's effective date are retained for two years and count toward the next tier, but those miles do not count toward Diamond Card electronic upgrade certificate benefits. [6]

Progress carries over differently depending on the route used. After upgrading to Silver or Gold, remaining mileage is counted toward the next higher status for one year, while a member who upgrades on sectors cannot carry the remaining sectors toward the next higher tier. [6]

Exceptions and limits

  • Several ticket types do not accrue miles at all: award tickets, free tickets, tickets without a face value, travel-industry and airline free or discount tickets, group tickets (booking class G), charter tickets, infant tickets, barter tickets and designated promotional fares. [3]
  • Tickets carrying an EVA Air or UNI Air flight number but operated by another airline do not accrue miles, except for specific flights that have their own accrual rules. [3] [4]
  • Miles earned in an upgraded cabin (booking class Z or U) can only be credited to an EVA Air membership number, not to a partner airline programme, and accrual follows the booking class on the ticket. [3]
  • Each flight can be credited to one programme only, and once miles are credited they cannot be moved to another airline's programme. [3] [4]
  • Miles are valid for 36 months from the flight date, or from the date a transfer request is made to a partner programme, and expired miles lapse automatically without notice. [3] [4]
  • If membership is terminated, the account is not retained and accrued miles and electronic upgrade certificates are void. [4]
