How to earn KrisPay miles with the Kris+ app
Kris+ is the rewards app through which Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer members earn KrisPay miles by paying partner merchants in the app, and the same spending also builds Elite Miles towards KrisFlyer Elite Silver and Elite Gold. [3] [4] The two currencies are separate: KrisPay miles come from payments made with the app's payment function, while Elite Miles are the status currency earned at Kris+, KrisShop and Pelago. [4]
Facts checked: 18 October 2026
Key takeaways
- Kris+ credits KrisPay miles when a member pays a Kris+ partner merchant through the app's payment function. [4]
- Kris+ spending earns Elite Miles, counted on the amount paid including GST and related service charges, for spending from 1 September 2025. [4]
- At most 20% of the Elite Miles needed for Elite Silver or Elite Gold can come from Kris+, KrisShop and Pelago: 5,000 for Elite Silver and 10,000 for Elite Gold. [4]
- Linking a CapitaStar account before paying earns STAR$ as well as miles at participating properties, with STAR$ credited up to 7 business days later. [3]
How does paying with the Kris+ app work?
Payment happens in the app. A member opens Kris+, uses the payment function at a Kris+ partner merchant, and the transaction earns KrisPay miles. [4] Singapore Airlines defines Kris+ partner merchants as the merchants it designates on singaporeair.com, together with KrisShop purchases made through the Kris+ app. [4] A purchase paid in person at a Kris+ partner store with cash, a credit card or a debit card is also treated as Kris+ spending. [4]
Alongside payment, the app carries partner deals, privileges and promotions, and its footer links to customer guides, the terms of use and an FAQ. [3]
How many Elite Miles does Kris+ spending earn?
Ground spending earns Elite Miles, the currency that decides Elite Silver and Elite Gold. [4] KrisFlyer members collect Elite Miles by flying Singapore Airlines, Scoot or partner airlines, and also by spending at Kris+, KrisShop and Pelago. [5] [4]
For spending from 1 September 2025, spending at Kris+, KrisShop and Pelago earns Elite Miles at the published rate. [4] For Kris+, the eligible amount is the value paid, including GST and all related service charges, either through the app's payment function or in person at a partner store. [4] KrisShop and Pelago purchases paid for with the payment function inside the Kris+ app are counted as Kris+ transactions. [4]
Elite Miles are not award miles: Singapore Airlines states that they cannot be used for award flights, upgrades or the purchase of tickets. [4]
How much of an Elite tier can be earned on the ground?
Elite Silver requires 25,000 Elite Miles in a consecutive 12-month period and Elite Gold requires 50,000. [4] Elite Miles earned from non-flight spending are capped at 20% of the total needed for either tier. [4]
| Tier | Elite Miles needed in 12 months | Most that can come from Kris+, KrisShop and Pelago |
|---|---|---|
| KrisFlyer Elite Silver | 25,000 [4] | 5,000 [4] |
| KrisFlyer Elite Gold | 50,000 [4] | 10,000 [4] |
Singapore Airlines gives a worked example: a member with 18,000 Elite Miles from flights and 6,000 from everyday spending has only 5,000 of the everyday miles counted, reaching 23,000 and missing Elite Silver. [4] A member with 45,000 flight Elite Miles and 9,000 everyday Elite Miles has all 9,000 counted and reaches Elite Gold. [4]
How do you earn STAR$ and KrisPay miles together?
Kris+ pairs the app with the CapitaStar programme, paying STAR$ and miles on the same Kris+ payment at participating properties; the material is published on the Singapore edition of the Kris+ site. [3]
- Link the CapitaStar account to the Kris+ account before making payment. [3]
- In the Kris+ app, open the Account tab, choose Linked Accounts, select Link, then enter the 15-digit CapitaStar Member ID from the CapitaStar app and confirm the link. [3]
- Pay via the Kris+ app at Kris+ partners at participating properties, on a minimum spend of SGD 20. [3]
Miles and STAR$ are credited separately to their respective accounts, and STAR$ may be credited up to 7 business days later. [3] The offer excludes ION Orchard, Paragon and Jewel Changi Airport. [3] Kris+ also lists a limited-time challenge that pays a $15 rebate on a single transaction of at least $150 at Kris+ partners at participating properties, subject to its terms and conditions. [3]
Exceptions and limits
- The 20% ceiling bites at each tier separately: no more than 5,000 non-flight Elite Miles can count towards Elite Silver and no more than 10,000 towards Elite Gold, whatever the Kris+ spend. [4]
- Only spending at a Kris+ partner merchant, in person at a partner store, or on KrisShop and Pelago purchases made inside the Kris+ app counts as Kris+ spending for Elite Miles. [4]
- The CapitaStar account must be linked before the payment, and the offer does not run at ION Orchard, Paragon or Jewel Changi Airport. [3]
- STAR$ and miles arrive separately, and STAR$ can take up to 7 business days to appear. [3]
- The $15 rebate challenge needs a single transaction of at least $150 and is subject to its own terms and conditions. [3]
- KrisFlyer miles are separate from Elite Miles: they can be redeemed for flights and cabin upgrades, or used to offset spending on travel, shopping and dining. [5]
