Renfe Más Renfe: a practical guide to Spain's rail points

Más Renfe is Renfe's loyalty programme. Add the member's number to the trip, check which services and fares qualify, and read the voucher terms before redeeming.

How earning works

Renfe's current programme overview lists AVE, Avlo, Larga Distancia and Avant among services where members may earn Renfe Points. Accrual depends on programme level and travel option, so check the current booking terms rather than relying on an old points-per-euro example.

Enter the Más Renfe number when booking. Renfe's FAQ says a purchased ticket can also be linked through My Trips before travel. Points are credited after the journey. The member who travels should have their own account number attached; buying several tickets for companions does not automatically credit every trip to the purchaser.

Using Renfe Points

Renfe says points can be used as payment for tickets, converted into discount vouchers or redeemed through selected partners. A voucher may be useful when the balance cannot cover a full award, but it has its own limits. Renfe's FAQ lists linked-journey and Cercanías tickets among restrictions for some vouchers.

For hotels, car hire and other partners, confirm availability, eligible rates, cancellation terms and whether the booking can earn further Renfe Points. Partner rules apply to each service.

A checklist for visitors

  • Check the eligible service and fare on the official page.
  • Add the travelling member's number before payment when possible.
  • Save the ticket locator and journey evidence in case points do not post.
  • Read the specific voucher terms; do not assume every ticket type is covered.
  • Recheck tier examples and partner offers because programme terms change.
