The bonus is tied to the booking channel, not the flight: no bonus points are earned if JetBlue-operated flights are booked by phone or otherwise, so those bookings stay at the base rate of 3 points per dollar, or 1 point per dollar on Base fares. How do you earn points with partners, cards and shopping?
TrueBlue points are earned by purchasing qualifying services or products from JetBlue, JetBlue Vacations, TrueBlue Travel, or with a JetBlue co-branded credit card. [4] Points can also be racked up on everyday purchases with JetBlue's travel, retail and credit card partners. [4]
On partner airlines, points are earned on qualifying flights operated by JetBlue's loyalty partners, but only if the member purchases an eligible fare and enters their TrueBlue number when booking the flight online. When do TrueBlue points post?
Points that have just been earned can take up to 14 days after completed travel to post to a TrueBlue account. [4] For non-air Paisly products, members should allow up to 30 days after completed travel for points to post. [4]
If the TrueBlue number was left off a booking, a member signed in to their TrueBlue account can click the "Request missing points" link. Points can be requested for a JetBlue-operated flight completed within 12 months of that flight. [4] The timeframe for requesting points on qualifying partner airlines may vary, so the guidance for each partner airline applies. [4]
Exceptions and limits
- Someone else's ticket earns nothing. A member cannot earn points for flights purchased for another traveller in the TrueBlue programme. [4]
- Partner flights need the right fare and the number at booking. To receive TrueBlue points on a flight operated by a partner airline, the member must purchase an eligible fare and enter their TrueBlue number when booking online. [4]
- Base fares earn at the lower rate. Base fares pay 1 point per dollar rather than 3, and attract the smaller booking bonus, so a Main Base or EvenMore® Base fare bought on jetblue.com totals 2 points per dollar against 6 on the higher fare families. [4]
- Bought, gifted and transferred points do not earn tiles. Points bought, gifted or transferred to another member at a cost can be used towards award redemptions, but they do not earn tiles. [5]
- Mosaic perks add points on top. JetBlue's Mosaic guidance lists extra points among the perks of its elite levels: an additional point for a total of 4x points at Mosaic 3, and a total of 5x points at Mosaic 4.
