PROGRAMME PROFILE
Aegean Lounge
Aegean Lounge here means the AEGEAN Business Lounges that Aegean names in its Miles+Bonus Platinum benefits — in Athens, Thessaloniki and Larnaca — together with the lounge access that Star Alliance Gold status and Star Alliance's paid lounge entry scheme provide. [3] [2] Access on the Miles+Bonus side is tied to the Platinum tier, which Aegean says launches on 5 November 2026. [3]
Facts checked: 18 October 2026
Key takeaways
- Aegean names AEGEAN Business Lounges in Athens, Thessaloniki and Larnaca as a Platinum benefit, available when the member travels with AEGEAN, Olympic Air or Star Alliance. [3]
- The benefit requires the Miles+Bonus member ID in the booking and the Miles+Bonus card on display at the lounge. [3]
- A Platinum member may bring up to eight guests — nine passengers in total — all on the same booking and flight, entering together. [3]
- Star Alliance Gold, as described on the same Aegean page, gives the member and one guest on the same flight access to over 1,000 lounges regardless of the cabin flown. [3]
Tier access and the conditions attached
On the Miles+Bonus side, the lounge benefit appears among the Platinum privileges. Aegean says Platinum launches on 5 November 2026 and that the member can relax in the AEGEAN Business Lounges in Athens, Thessaloniki and Larnaca, provided the member travels with AEGEAN, Olympic Air or Star Alliance. [3] The benefit is conditional on the Miles+Bonus member ID being included in the booking and the Miles+Bonus card being displayed. [3]
Platinum is reached by collecting 72,000 tier miles, including at least 32 flights with AEGEAN and/or Olympic Air, in the last 12 months, and the same figures apply to retention. [3] Aegean's transition notes say that from 5 November 2026 Gold members may upgrade to Platinum by collecting 72,000 tier miles through flight activity only, including at least 32 AEGEAN/Olympic Air flights in the last 12 months. [4] Members whose tier retention period ends on or before 4 November 2026 keep their tier under the previous rules. [4]
Access by cabin is not set out on the page: it describes priority security and passport control for Gold status holders, First and Business Class passengers, but does not state a lounge entitlement that follows from the cabin booked. [3]
Guests and children
Platinum members can share the lounge with family, friends or colleagues, up to eight guests — nine passengers in total including the member — as long as everyone is on the same booking and the same flight and enters together. [3] A guest is counted as any person over the age of two, and infants under two travelling with an eligible customer may accompany them into the lounge. [3] The page does not describe a separate guest allowance for any other Miles+Bonus tier. [3]
Group bookings of more than nine passengers are excluded from the Fast Track benefit on the same page, but the lounge paragraph itself is written in terms of the same booking and flight rather than a separate group limit. [3]
Star Alliance Gold and paid entry
Aegean's Platinum page also sets out Star Alliance Gold privileges, and says that when travelling with any Star Alliance member airline the member and a guest travelling on the same flight can use over 1,000 airport lounges worldwide, regardless of class of travel. [3] The same page describes Gold status holders, First and Business Class passengers as having priority at security and passport control in more than 130 locations. [3]
Separately, Star Alliance sells lounge entry for a fee by reservation. The reservation is valid only for the lounge chosen, the traveller must be flying on a Star Alliance member carrier, and entry requires the reservation together with a boarding pass for the same day of travel, with identification possibly requested. [2] A reservation can cover up to nine people including the purchaser, guests are admitted only in the presence of the person named on the reservation, and the person making the reservation must be at least 18. [2] Star Alliance states a maximum stay of three hours unless the access document or the lounge indicates otherwise, and notes that individual lounges apply their own entry terms, including dress code. [2]
Reservations are fully refunded where the flight is cancelled or delayed by more than four hours and the reservation is cancelled more than 24 hours before the estimated time of entry; a purchase made less than 24 hours before that time is refunded less a 5% service fee, and without such a cancellation or delay the reservation is not refunded. [2] The Star Alliance page shows its own Los Angeles and Rio de Janeiro lounges as bookable examples. [2]
Exceptions and what is not published
- Schengen and non-Schengen areas.
- Other Miles+Bonus tiers.
- Cabin-based entry.
- Paid entry at Athens or Thessaloniki.
- Children under paid entry. Star Alliance says child access policies differ between lounge providers, with some offering complimentary access for children and others requiring a purchase for each child. [2] The guest allowance on the Aegean Platinum benefit and the nine-person limit on Star Alliance reservations are separate rules and should not be read as one. [3] [2]
