Facts checked: 18 October 2026

Key takeaways

  • Ink Business Unlimited pays unlimited 1.5% cash back on every purchase and has a $0 annual fee, and Chase records that cash back as Ultimate Rewards points at 100 points for each $1 of cash back earned. [1]
  • The new cardmember offer is $750 cash back after $6,000 of purchases in the first three months, and Chase says it may not be available to anyone who has ever held this card or another Chase for Business card without an annual fee. [1]
  • Points do not expire while the account stays open, but they are lost immediately if the account is closed or its status changes because of programme misuse, fraud or other reasons listed in the terms. [1]
  • Under the Ultimate Rewards program agreement, points can be combined only onto another Chase card with Ultimate Rewards belonging to the cardholder, one member of the cardholder's household, or the company owner. [3]

How does Ink Business Unlimited earn cash back?

The card earns unlimited 1.5% cash back on every purchase made for the business. [1] Chase treats that cash back as a points currency: each $1 of cash back earned equals 100 points, so a $1 purchase at the 1.5% rate adds 1.5 points to the balance. [1] Purchases made by the cardholder or by any authorized user on the account count. [1]

Several transaction types are excluded from earning: balance transfers, cash advances, cash-like transactions such as travellers cheques, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers and cryptocurrency, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips and racetrack or similar betting transactions, person-to-person money transfers, any cheques that access the account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind. [1]

Employee cards can be added at no additional cost, with individual spending limits available for each cardholder. [1] Chase also advertises 40,000 bonus points for each business approved for any Chase for Business card through its referral programme, up to 200,000 points a year. [1]

Lyft spending earns a temporary higher rate: 5% total cash back on qualifying Lyft products and services bought through the Lyft mobile app through 30 September 2027, made up of the usual 1.5% plus 3.5% extra. [1] Qualifying purchases cover rideshare, bike and scooter rides, and subscription and membership products; gift cards, car rentals, vehicle service centres, miscellaneous fees and other Lyft products are excluded, and the extra cash back appears on the statement as a separate line. What does the $750 offer require, and what does the card cost?

To earn the $750, a new cardholder must make $6,000 in purchases during the first three months after account opening. [1] Chase asks cardholders to allow six to eight weeks after qualifying for the bonus to post, and the account must be open and not in default when the bonus is fulfilled. [1] The same purchases definition used for earning applies to the spending requirement, so balance transfers, cash advances, fees and the other excluded transactions do not count towards the $6,000. [1]

The offer may not be available to someone who has ever had this card or any other Chase for Business card without an annual fee, and Chase says it may also weigh factors about the business when deciding bonus eligibility. [1] Offer details can vary by where the application is made, for example online or in a branch, and can change over time. [1]

Which credits and protections come with the card?

Chase offers one complimentary three-month Instacart+ membership per eligible card account when it is activated with an eligible card between 1 May 2025 and 31 December 2027 and a United States address is used; the membership renews automatically at $99 a year unless it is cancelled. [1] While that membership is active, cardholders receive a $20 Instacart credit each month, loaded at the start of the month, usable with one retailer on Instacart.com when paying with the Ink card, and it does not roll over into the following month. [1] The credit excludes taxes, service and delivery fees, tips and special handling fees, has no cash value and cannot be transferred. [1]

Travel and purchase protections include auto rental coverage that is primary when renting for business purposes, up to $60,000 for theft and collision damage on most rental vehicles with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $125,000 or less, provided the rental company's collision insurance is declined and the entire rental cost is charged to the card. [1] Purchase protection covers eligible new purchases for 120 days against damage or theft up to $10,000 per item, with a 90-day period for New York residents. [1] Extended warranty protection adds one year to a United States manufacturer's warranty of three years or less, up to four years from the purchase date. [1] Travel and emergency assistance supplies legal and medical referrals, with the cardholder paying for any goods or services obtained, and roadside assistance fees are billed to the card when help is dispatched. [1]

How do Ultimate Rewards pooling and point transfers work?

On the card page, Chase lists cash back as a statement credit or a direct deposit to most United States checking and savings accounts, with no minimum to redeem, alongside travel booked through Chase Travel, the Apple Ultimate Rewards Store, gift cards from more than 150 brands and paying with points at third parties. [1] Chase notes that redemption values for reward options may vary. [1]

The Ultimate Rewards program agreement, in the version published as the Ink Business Preferred with Ultimate Rewards Program Agreement, sets out the pooling rules: points can be moved to another Chase card with Ultimate Rewards belonging to the cardholder, one member of the cardholder's household, or the owner of the company, and no move is allowed if either account is barred from earning or using points at that moment. [3]

The same agreement allows points to be transferred to participating frequent travel programmes in 1,000-point increments, but only into accounts belonging to the cardholder or to a company owner listed as an authorized user on the card. [3] A transfer fee may apply and is disclosed before the transfer; most requests process by the next business day but can take up to seven business days, the details supplied must match the travel programme's records, and transferred points fall under that programme's terms and cannot be refunded or cancelled. [3]

For cash, gift cards and travel, the agreement values each point at one cent, so 100 points equal $1, while other redemption options may be worth more or less and promotional offers can carry a higher value. [3] Points are earned at the close of each monthly billing cycle and generally become available at the start of the next one, although purchases made near the end of a cycle can take an additional cycle. [3]

Exceptions, limits and conditions

  • Losing points. Points do not expire while the account is open, but all of them are lost immediately if the account is closed, or its status changes, for programme misuse, fraud, failure to comply with other Chase agreements, or a Chase belief that the holder may be unwilling or unable to pay debts; points are not reinstated unless Chase made an error. [3]
  • After closure. If the account is closed for another reason, the cardholder has at least 30 days from the closure date to use the points, and the same 30-day window applies if Chase cancels the programme; if the account is closed because of death, the points are automatically redeemed for a statement credit. [3]
  • Business use only. Points must be used for the company's business purposes, to benefit only the company rather than any individual, and in line with applicable laws and the company's own policies. [3]
  • Lyft promotion. The 5% rate runs only through 30 September 2027, covers the product types listed above, and pays the extra 3.5% as a separate statement line; future Lyft products or services may not qualify. [1]
  • Instacart benefit. The membership is non-transferable, limited to one per eligible card account, requires activation with a United States address, and its benefits end on 31 December 2027; the benefit can be removed if the card account is closed or in default. [1]
  • Rates are set card by card. The Ink Business Preferred agreement, for example, sets 3 points per $1 on eligible spending each account anniversary year in categories including shipping, social media and search engine advertising, travel, and internet, cable and phone services, dropping to 1 point per $1 after the applicable cap, whereas Ink Business Unlimited pays a flat 1.5% cash back. [3] [1]
  • Pay Over Time. Eligible purchases of $100 or more can be split into plans of 3 to 24 months with a fixed monthly fee rather than interest, but access is not guaranteed and depends on factors such as creditworthiness, credit limit and account behaviour; Chase small business cards are excluded from using Pay Over Time at checkout on Amazon.com. [1]
  • Eligibility. Accounts are subject to credit approval, and the card is issued by JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. [1]
