What are the Aeroméxico Rewards status tiers?
Aeroméxico Rewards is operated by PLM Premier, S.A.P.I. de C.V. and is open to individuals domiciled in Mexico or in countries where loyalty programmes are not prohibited. [3] The programme terms were last updated on 9 April 2023. [3] New members begin at Clásico, and the programme publishes four higher tiers with qualifying-point thresholds. [4]
| Tier | Qualifying points to reach or maintain | Extra Aeroméxico Rewards points on flights | SkyTeam recognition | Priority boarding |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Plata | 25,000 [4] | 2 [4] | SkyTeam Elite [4] | Zone 3 [4] |
| Oro | 50,000 [4] | 3 [4] | SkyTeam Elite [4] | Zone 2 [4] |

The table lists the qualifying points needed to reach or maintain each tier, and it also lists additional Aeroméxico Rewards points earned on flights. [4] The additional-points benefit applies to tickets sold and operated by Aeroméxico and affiliated airlines, according to each airline's rules. [4]
How do you earn Aeroméxico Rewards qualifying points?
Qualifying points are obtained exclusively by flying and are the points that allow a member to reach or maintain Plata, Oro, Platino or Titanio. [4] The qualifying period runs from 1 January to 31 December each year, and the points are earned on flights with Aeroméxico and airlines in the SkyTeam alliance that are affiliated with Aeroméxico Rewards, subject to fare-family conditions. [3]
A new Clásico member earns 8 qualifying points for each dollar spent, or the equivalent in local currency, before taxes on Aeroméxico flights. [4] The 8-points-per-dollar rate applies from 1 January 2022. [5] Qualifying points come exclusively from flying, so other earning channels are not part of the tier metric. [4]
Basic Economy tickets, identified as Class V or its equivalent, are not eligible for qualifying points and do not count toward reaching or maintaining any Aeroméxico Rewards tier. [4] The additional-points benefit is also subject to fare and airline rules. [4]
What benefits do the tiers include?
Plata, Oro and Platino list a free first checked bag; Titanio lists a free first checked bag or sports-equipment item, and the sports-equipment option does not apply to Light or Basic fares. [4] Complimentary upgrades to Premier class are subject to availability and do not apply to Light or Basic fares. [4] The upgrade request window is last-minute gate for Plata on domestic routes, 24 hours before the flight for Oro with one companion, 72 hours for Platino with one companion, and 120 hours for Titanio with one companion. [4]
Platino and Titanio list access to Aeroméxico Premier lounges, with one companion for Platino and two companions for Titanio on the same itinerary. [4] That lounge benefit applies only when the itinerary includes at least one international flight in the same reservation, whether arriving or departing. [4] Platino and Titanio also list complimentary SkyTeam VIP lounge access with one companion on the same itinerary. [4] Upgrades to Premier class, or to class "O", do not provide Aeroméxico Premier lounge access. [4]
Priority boarding rises by tier: Zone 3 for Plata, Zone 2 for Oro and Platino, and Zone 1 for Titanio. [4] The programme also publishes a Friends & Family feature for sharing tier benefits with family and friends. [4]
Which SkyTeam benefits does status unlock?
Aeroméxico Rewards uses two SkyTeam recognition levels: SkyTeam Elite for Plata and Oro, and SkyTeam Elite Plus for Platino and Titanio. [4] SkyTeam is described as covering more than 1,050 destinations in 166 countries. [4] Partner recognition is therefore expressed through the member's SkyTeam Elite or Elite Plus level. [4]
Exceptions and limits
- Basic Economy (Class V or equivalent) earns no qualifying points, so those flights cannot be used to reach or maintain a tier. [4]
- The additional-points bonus on flights applies only to tickets sold and operated by Aeroméxico and affiliated airlines, under the rules of each airline. [4]
- Complimentary upgrades and the sports-equipment baggage benefit exclude Light and Basic fares. [4]
- Aeroméxico Premier lounge access requires at least one international flight in the same reservation; upgrades to Premier class or class "O" do not provide lounge access. [4]
- Aeroméxico Rewards points have had indefinite validity since 10 April 2023, but Aeroméxico Rewards may cancel an account after 48 consecutive months without accumulating or redeeming points, regardless of the point balance. [3]
