PROGRAMME PROFILE

Aeromexico Rewards

Aeromexico Rewards is the loyalty programme of Aeroméxico, open to the general public, in which enrolled members collect Aeroméxico Rewards Points from flights on participating airlines and from purchases with affiliated companies, and exchange them for the benefits set out in the programme rules. [3] The programme is operated and administered by PLM Premier, S.A.P.I. de C.V. (PLM), described in the terms as owner and operator of the programme, with its address in Mexico City. [3]

Facts checked: 18 October 2026

Key takeaways

  • Aeroméxico Rewards is Aeroméxico's own programme, run by PLM, with points earned on flights and with affiliated companies rather than a single airline-only currency. [3]
  • Above the entry Clásico level sit four tiers measured in Qualifying Points earned from flights within a calendar year: Plata at 25,000, Oro at 50,000, Platino at 80,000 and Titanio at 100,000. [4] [3]
  • Basic Economy tickets (class V or equivalent) earn no Qualifying Points, so they do not move a member toward any tier. [4]
  • From 10 April 2023, points in an account stopped expiring and carry indefinite validity under the current terms. [3]

Membership and enrolment

Membership is open to individuals resident in Mexico and in other countries where loyalty programmes are not prohibited. [3] Minors and people under legal guardianship join through a parent or guardian, who is the only person authorised to act for them in programme matters. [3] Enrolment is free and can be completed by telephone, on the programme website, through Aeroméxico sales, on an affiliated company's site, in the mobile app, at activation events, or by taking out a co-branded credit card. [3]

Each member receives a single account number that is personal and cannot be transferred. [3] Physical membership cards have not been issued since 1 January 2023, and the digital card held in the app replaces them, including for replacements. [3] Points carry no monetary value and cannot be exchanged or refunded for cash. [3]

Earning points

Members begin at Clásico and collect 8 Aeroméxico Rewards Points on spending, or the equivalent in national currency, before taxes on Aeroméxico flights; the tier page counts these as Qualifying Points. [4] The earning page dates the 8-points rate from 1 January 2022. [5] Tiers add a further bonus on flights: 2 points at Plata, 3 at Oro, 5 at Platino and 8 at Titanio, for tickets sold and operated by Aeroméxico and by airlines affiliated to the programme, in line with each airline's own rules. [4]

Two co-branded credit cards, Inbursa Aeroméxico and American Express® Aeroméxico, add points on everyday spending, and the earning page describes a welcome bonus of up to 32,000 points. [5] Points held with banks or department stores can also be converted into Aeroméxico Rewards Points. [5] Such transfers are final and are not refunded once applied, and each affiliated company sets its own terms for them. [3] For the wider picture of earning with non-airline partners, see partner earning.

Flights not credited automatically can be claimed afterwards: for Aeroméxico flights, up to 9 months after flying, with the request made at least 10 days after the flight and the name, surname and date of birth on the ticket matching the account. [6] For flights on SkyTeam or other affiliated airlines, the claim window is up to 6 months after flying. [6] Points are credited only once the flight has taken place. [6]

Elite tiers and SkyTeam status

Qualifying Points come exclusively from flying and are the measure for reaching or maintaining Plata, Oro, Platino or Titanio; they accumulate from 1 January to 31 December each year. [4] [3] The published thresholds to reach or maintain a tier are 25,000 Qualifying Points for Plata, 50,000 for Oro, 80,000 for Platino and 100,000 for Titanio. [4] Because Basic Economy tickets in class V or its equivalent earn no Qualifying Points, they do not count toward any tier. [4] The mechanics of tier measurement are set out under status points.

On the alliance side, Plata and Oro members are recognised as SkyTeam Elite and Platino and Titanio members as SkyTeam Elite Plus. [4] The tier page describes the SkyTeam network as more than 1,050 destinations in 166 countries. [4] For how alliance recognition works across carriers, see the SkyTeam guide.

Published tier benefits include seat selection opening 24 hours before the flight for Plata and 48 hours for Oro, with 24 hours for AM Plus seats at Oro, and Light and Basic fares excluded from the benefit. [4] Complimentary Clase Premier upgrades are subject to availability: on domestic routes, requested at the last-minute lounge for Plata, 24 hours before the flight with a companion for Oro, 72 hours for Platino and 120 hours for Titanio, again excluding Light and Basic fares. [4] A first checked bag is free at Plata, Oro and Platino, while Titanio adds a free checked bag or sports equipment, with sports equipment excluded on Light and Basic. [4] Priority boarding is published by zone, moving from zone 3 to zone 1 as the tier rises. [4] Premier lounge access carries companion allowances on the same itinerary, and the tier page says that benefit applies only when the itinerary includes at least one international flight in the same reservation. [4]

Redeeming points and expiry

Points can be used for services and products from participating airlines and affiliated companies, according to the redemption terms applicable to each of them. [3] Redemption is done on the programme website using the web password, by telephone through the call centre, or at affiliated establishments by presenting the card or giving the PIN, and must be carried out directly by the account holder. [3] For the general question of whether a seat is bookable with points, see award availability, and for a worked example of booking alliance awards, booking Delta SkyMiles awards.

On expiry, the terms state that from 10 April 2023 points accumulated in Aeroméxico Rewards accounts stopped expiring and now have indefinite validity. [3] Before that date, a balance expired where the account had no point accrual in the preceding 24 months, and transfers between family group members and redemptions did not count as qualifying activity for keeping points alive. [3] Where accrual is granted retroactively, the date the service was earned is used rather than the date the points were credited. [3] Points that did expire can be recovered at a preferential price for up to 12 months after the expiry date, by telephone or on the programme website. [3]

Exceptions and limits

  • Family group. The terms define the family group as children and parents only, linking their accounts to transfer or receive points. [3] The earning page describes the feature differently, as enrolling a spouse and children, naming a titular and linking accounts so points can be moved at no extra cost. [5]
  • Inactivity. An account inactive for 48 consecutive months or more may be suspended definitively where it holds no points balance, and cancelled after the same period even with a balance, in which case the points are lost permanently; inactivity means no accrual or redemption during that period. [3]
  • Death of the account holder. Points in the account are cancelled and cannot be transferred to any other Aeroméxico Rewards account. [3]
  • Fraud and breach. Fraud, misuse or breach of the terms can lead to temporary suspension, during which accrual, redemption and benefits are blocked, or to definitive cancellation that removes the account, its points and its benefits. [3]
  • Changes by the operator. Aeroméxico Rewards reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel the programme or any of its parts, including promotions and affiliated companies, with or without prior notice. [3]
  • Rules held elsewhere. The terms state that accrual and redemption follow the specific conditions published for each participating airline and affiliated company, which this page does not summarise. [3]
