Who can join Aeroméxico Rewards?
The program describes itself as the loyalty program of Aeroméxico and its commercial partners, open to the general public, and it is operated and administered by PLM Premier, S.A.P.I. de C.V., whose registered office is on Paseo de la Reforma in Mexico City. [1] The terms define a member as an individual person (persona física) with a domicile in Mexico and/or in countries where loyalty programs are not prohibited. [1]
Minors and people under legal incapacity can hold membership, and they are represented by whoever exercises parental authority or guardianship under the applicable law. [1] For a member who is a minor, the parents or guardians are the only people authorized to act on that member's behalf in every procedure, and Aeroméxico Rewards may ask them to prove that status at any time. [1]
The terms state that the current enrollment procedures are free. [1]
How do you enroll in Aeroméxico Rewards?
Enrollment begins with providing your personal details through one of the channels the program lists; what happens next depends on the route you choose. [1]
| Channel | What the terms say happens |
|---|---|
| Aeroméxico Rewards website | You enter your data on the program page, receive your account number when you finish entering it, and are registered once that step is completed. [1] |
| Aeroméxico Rewards app | The app is listed as an enrollment channel, and it is also where the digital membership card is available. [1] |
| Phone service center | You give your data by phone, receive your account number at that moment and are registered automatically. [1] |
| Aeroméxico sales area | You receive your account number at that moment and an email so you can finish the enrollment; completing that step is required before you can use member benefits. [1] |
| Partner website or events | Special cases through an affiliated company's website, and activations at affiliated-company or Aeroméxico Rewards events. [1] |
| Co-branded credit card | Enrollment through taking out one of the Aeroméxico co-branded credit cards. [1] |
Whichever route you use, the details you supply have to be accurate: by joining, a member declares that the data in the profile are truthful, correct and up to date, and the address given is treated as the member's place of residence for legal purposes. [1] Enrolling also means accepting the program's terms, rules, conditions and policies. [1]
What happens once your account is open?
Each member receives a unique, personal and non-transferable account number at enrollment, and the account records every accumulation and redemption as well as the profile details. [1] At enrollment the member also receives or sets a web password, used to sign in and manage the account on the program website and in the app, plus a NIP (personal identification number), used for inquiries through the phone service center and for redeeming points at participating partner establishments where that applies. [1]
Membership is paperless: since 1 January 2023 no physical cards are issued, and the digital card in the Aeroméxico Rewards app replaces the physical one. [1] The card is personal, non-transferable and remains the property of Aeroméxico Rewards, and it has to be shown when earning or redeeming points at partner establishments. [1] A statement is sent monthly by email to the address given at enrollment or updated later; changes of address, phone or email must be made through the program website, the phone service center or the support email. [1]
New accounts start in the Clásico tier, which earns 8 qualifying points per dollar spent, or the equivalent in national currency, before taxes on Aeroméxico flights. [2] Those qualifying points are the ones that count toward the Plata, Oro, Platino and Titanio tiers, at 25,000, 50,000, 80,000 and 100,000 points respectively. [2] The program's earning page tells members to give their Aeroméxico Rewards number when buying from Aeroméxico or a commercial partner and when transferring bank points. [3] A flight that was not credited can be claimed afterward: within 9 months of flying with Aeroméxico and within 6 months of flying with SkyTeam or another affiliated airline, with at least 10 days elapsed since the flight and with the name, surnames and date of birth on the ticket matching the account. [4]
Exceptions and limits
- Inactivity. A definitive suspension may be applied to accounts inactive for 48 consecutive months or more that hold no points balance, and an account can be canceled after 48 consecutive months or more of inactivity whether or not it has a balance; cancellation closes the account permanently and ends the points and benefits. [1]
- Returning after cancellation. A former member whose account was canceled has to enroll again, subject to the terms in force at the time of the new registration. [1]
- Closing the account yourself. A member can request voluntary cancellation by email to [email protected], including the account number, full name, a signed letter giving the reason and a copy of valid official identification. [1]
- Death of the account holder. The points in the account are canceled and cannot be transferred to any other account. [1]
- No cash value. Aeroméxico Rewards points have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged or refunded in cash. [1]
- Governing law. The terms are governed by the laws of Mexico City, and disputes fall to the competent courts of Mexico City. [1]
