How to get an Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards status match

Alaska Airlines status match gives eligible elite members of seven other airline programmes an equivalent Atmos Rewards tier — Atmos Silver, Atmos Gold or Atmos Platinum — for 90 days, after which the tier continues only if the member earns a set number of base points on Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines flights. [1] Atmos Rewards is the loyalty programme of Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, both members of the oneworld alliance [5], and a matched tier carries the equivalent oneworld Priority status on oneworld member airlines [1].

Key takeaways

  • Alaska matches elite status held with Aeromexico, Air Canada, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest and United into Atmos Rewards, and the matched tier lasts 90 days. [1]
  • Atmos Silver corresponds to oneworld Ruby, Atmos Gold to oneworld Sapphire and Atmos Platinum to oneworld Emerald, and the matched tier carries that oneworld Priority status on member airlines. [1]
  • To keep the tier, a member must earn 5,000 base points for Atmos Silver, 10,000 for Atmos Gold or 20,000 for Atmos Platinum on eligible Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines flights within 90 days of approval. [1]
  • The offer is one-time for the lifetime of the account, is open only to legal residents of the United States and Canada, and excludes existing Atmos Platinum and Atmos Titanium members. [1]

Which airline statuses does Alaska match?

Alaska publishes a match table that names seven airline programmes and maps each published tier to one of the three Atmos Rewards elite levels. [1] The matched level also carries the equivalent oneworld Priority status: Atmos Silver gives oneworld Ruby, Atmos Gold gives oneworld Sapphire and Atmos Platinum gives oneworld Emerald. [1]

Some rows are narrower than others. JetBlue's TrueBlue Mosaic appears only in the Atmos Silver column, and Southwest reaches Atmos Platinum only where a member holds both A-List Preferred and Companion Pass. [1] In the Air Canada row, the Silver column covers two published tiers, Altitude 25K (Prestige) and Altitude 35K. [1] The matched status is granted for 90 days, and Alaska describes the match as giving oneworld Alliance Priority status equivalent to the new Atmos Rewards level on all oneworld member airlines. [1]

How do you apply for a status match?

Applications are made by uploading a screenshot of the member's status with the other airline, and Alaska says a member may apply only once. [1] The status being matched has to be elite status the member achieved through actual flight miles or segments in that other programme. [1]

Status that came from a credit card, from transferred points, or from any other promotional offer is not eligible, and complimentary status or status earned through a promotion does not qualify either. [1] Only legal residents of the United States and Canada can take part. [1] Existing Atmos Platinum and Atmos Titanium members are not eligible, even if they hold equivalent or higher status with another airline programme. [1]

Alaska asks applicants to allow up to four weeks for verification and approval. [1] Status is confirmed by a welcome email sent when the match is approved, and members can also check their status in their account at alaskaair.com. [1] The 90-day matched period runs from approval, and the base points that keep the tier must be earned inside that window. [1]

How do you keep the matched status?

Keeping the tier is a flying challenge, not an application step: Alaska sets a base-point target for each level that must be met within 90 days of approval, with Saver fares excluded. [1]

Atmos Silveroneworld Ruby5,000
Atmos Goldoneworld Sapphire10,000
Atmos Platinumoneworld Emerald20,000

Only certain flights count toward the target. The flying has to be on flights marketed by Alaska Airlines or Hawaiian Airlines and operated by Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Horizon or SkyWest, during the initial 90-day period. [1] Codeshare flights operated by other airlines, flights on Alaska Global Partners, award travel and bonus points do not count, and Saver fares booked in X class are excluded. [1]

How long the tier lasts after the challenge depends on when the match happened. A status matched before 30 June, with the flight requirement met during the initial 90-day period, is kept through the end of that calendar year; a status matched between 1 July and 31 December is kept through the end of the next calendar year. [1]

Exceptions and limits

  • Once per account. The status match is a one-time offer: a member may receive one status match for the lifetime of the account, and the offer is subject to change without notice. [1]
  • Earned status only. Complimentary status, status earned through a promotion, and status granted on the basis of credit card activity, transferred points or another promotional offer are all outside the offer. [1]
  • Residency. The offer is valid only for legal residents of the United States and Canada. [1]
  • Excluded members. Existing Atmos Platinum and Atmos Titanium members cannot use the offer, even where they hold equivalent or higher status with another airline programme. [1]
  • Flight restrictions. Award travel, bonus points, codeshares operated by other airlines, Alaska Global Partner flights and Saver fares in X class are all excluded from the base points that keep the matched tier. [1]
  • Programme terms. The status match sits inside the wider programme: all terms and conditions of the Atmos Rewards programme apply. [1]

Every rule on this page is the Atmos Rewards status match as published on 18 October 2026 and applies to members who are legal residents of the United States and Canada. [1] Tiers and thresholds are set by Alaska for its own programme and are not a general rule for status matches at other airlines. [1]

Frequently asked questions

Can I status match to Alaska more than once?

No. Alaska describes the status match as a one-time offer and says a member may receive one status match for the lifetime of the account, and a member may apply only once. [1]

Does status earned from a credit card or a promotion qualify?

It does not. The match is offered only to members who achieved elite status through actual flight miles or segments in another programme, while status from credit card activity, transferred points or any other promotional offer is not eligible, and complimentary status or promotional status does not qualify. [1]

How long does approval take?

Alaska asks members to allow up to four weeks for verification and approval, and sends a welcome email once the status match is approved. [1]

Do award flights count toward keeping the status?

No. Award travel, codeshare flights operated by other airlines, flights on Alaska Global Partners and bonus points do not count toward keeping the status, and Saver fares booked in X class are excluded. [1]

Can existing Atmos Platinum or Titanium members match across?

No. Existing Atmos Platinum and Atmos Titanium members are not eligible for the offer, even if they hold equivalent or higher status with another airline programme. [1]
