Which Asiana fare classes earn Asiana Club miles?

Asiana's table is keyed to the reservation class marked on the purchased ticket, so the same cabin can carry several rates. [1] In international business, J earns 135% while P, I and R earn 0%, even though all four are listed in the same cabin. [1] The table below sets out the rates by market, cabin and booking class. How does Asiana Club credit miles to a ticket?

Asiana credits miles using the booking class on the purchased flight ticket. [1] With upgrade awards, the airline uses the purchased ticket's class. [1] An upgrade award therefore does not move earning to the higher cabin's rate. [1] A flight that does not qualify for earning is left out of the member's flight count. [1] Check the class letter on the ticket against the table, rather than the cabin name alone. [1]

Do discounted Asiana tickets still earn miles?

Not every Asiana ticket earns miles, even if its booking class appears in the table. [1] Asiana excludes purchased tickets discounted at 50% or more off the regular fare from mileage accrual. [1] The exclusion starts at 50% off the regular fare. [1] Several booking classes also carry a 0% rate: P, I and R in international business; L, X and N in international economy; and L, W, T, G, F, J, D, Z, O, X and N in domestic Korea economy. [1]

What are the exceptions and limits?

  • Domestic R class. Asiana's table note says Domestic R Class changed from 100% to 0%, applied as of November 5, 2021. [1]
  • Deep discounts. A purchased ticket discounted at 50% or more off the regular fare is not eligible, regardless of the class rate shown in the table. [1]
  • Upgrade awards and flight count. Upgrade awards earn on the purchased ticket class, and an ineligible flight is not included in flight count. [1]
  • 2026 integration. Asiana's integration notice, registered on September 15, 2026, says the Korean Air and Asiana mileage integration takes effect on December 17, 2026. [2] It says Asiana Club membership terms remain effective until the day before the integration date. [2] The notice defines the Full Integration Date as the merger date of Korean Air and Asiana and says Asiana mileage will not accrue after the Full Integration Date, except for three listed reasons: Asiana flights taken or partner services used before the merger and credited afterward; award seats bought from Asiana before the merger and refunded afterward; and other cases Korean Air announces individually.
