PROGRAMME PROFILE

Asiana Airlines Asiana Club

Asiana Club is the frequent flyer programme of Asiana Airlines, which identifies itself as a Star Alliance member. [4] It publishes mileage accrual rates by booking class for international and Korean domestic flights. [4] Its membership terms remain in effect until the day before 17 December 2026, when an integrated mileage programme with Korean Air takes effect and Korean Air's SKYPASS membership terms, mileage transaction service terms and Asiana mileage general terms replace them. [3]

Facts checked: 18 October 2026

Key takeaways

  • Miles are earned at a rate fixed by the reservation class on the ticket, from 135% in international business J down to 0% in several classes. [4]
  • Tickets discounted at 50% or more off the regular fare earn no miles, and upgrade awards accrue on the class purchased. [4]
  • Asiana Club terms end the day before 17 December 2026, when Korean Air's SKYPASS membership terms and the Asiana mileage general terms take effect. [3]
  • Asiana mileage converts to SKYPASS only when the member applies, in full, at 1:1 for flown mileage and 1:0.82 for partner mileage. [3]

Earning by booking class

Accrual follows the reservation class shown on the purchased ticket rather than distance or fare paid. [4] On the English-language Singapore edition of Asiana's site, the published rates are:

  • International business: J 135%; C, D, Z 125%; U 100%; P, I, R 0%. [4]
  • International economy: Y, B, M, H, E, Q, K, A, S 100%; G (group discount tickets) 80%; V, W 70%; T 50%; L, X, N 0%. [4]
  • Domestic Korea business: C 125%; U 100%; P, I, R 0%. [4]
  • Domestic Korea economy: Y, A, B, M, H, E, Q, K, S 100%; V 70%; L, W, T, G, F, J, D, Z, O, X, N 0%. [4]

Tickets discounted at 50% or more off the regular fare are not eligible for accrual, and a flight that is not eligible is not added to the member's flight count. [4] For upgrade awards, miles accrue on the class of the ticket the member bought, not on the upgraded cabin. [4] The table records one change: domestic R class moved from 100% to 0% with effect from 5 November 2021. [4]

Tiers and the 2026 integration

The integration notice names the term-based Elite tiers as Diamond Plus, Diamond and Gold, each with a 24-month term. [3] On the full integration date every Asiana member is granted the Korean Air tier that matches their existing Asiana tier, and a term-based Elite member keeps the validity period earned under Asiana in the matched Korean Air tier. [3] A fresh evaluation follows once the member's Asiana mileage has been fully converted, whether by applying for conversion or after the separate Asiana mileage operation period ends; that evaluation uses Korean Air's elite qualification criteria and combines mileage from Asiana-operated flights with existing Korean Air qualification miles, granting the higher tier where the combined record supports it. [3]

Using miles, family pooling and conversion

After integration, Asiana mileage is used through a dedicated Asiana mileage page on the Korean Air website. [3] The permitted uses are award tickets on Korean Air flights, seat upgrade awards, Cash and Miles and non-flight awards such as shopping, and only redemption options offered by Korean Air apply. [3] Miles must in principle be used by the member, but the notice allows transfers between registered family members and family pooling to cover a shortfall under Korean Air's family plan; eligibility is based on SKYPASS registration and the listed scope covers spouse, parents, children, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren, parents-in-law, son-in-law and daughter-in-law. [3] Conversion to SKYPASS is voluntary, must cover the whole balance and cannot be reversed, and applies 1:1 to flown mileage and 1:0.82 to partner mileage. [3] After the 10-year term of the Asiana mileage terms, remaining miles are converted collectively at the same ratios, with their original validity honoured. [3]

Alliance transition and consent

Asiana presents itself as a Star Alliance member [4], and Star Alliance describes itself as 26 airlines serving more than 1,150 airports in 190 countries [2]. The integration notice adds a consent step for third-party sharing and international data transfer, which it labels "Sky Team" sharing; withholding that consent restricts earning and redeeming miles as well as elite status benefits from 17 December 2026. [3] Asiana Club members already registered with Korean Air SKYPASS do not need to give separate consent. [3]

Exceptions and limits

  • A member who does not agree to the updated terms may terminate within three months of the notice by contacting the regional Asiana reservation centre in Korea, Japan, China or the US; silence is treated as acceptance, and termination cancels the membership while remaining Asiana Club miles expire under the existing terms. [3]
  • Refusing the transfer of personal data requires notice by 16 December 2026; refusal cancels the membership, and remaining Asiana miles can be used before cancellation and expire when the account closes. [3]
  • After the full integration date, Asiana mileage accrues only for Asiana flights or partner services used before the merger and credited afterwards, for award seats bought from Asiana before the merger and refunded afterwards, and in other cases individually announced by Korean Air. [3]
  • Expired miles cannot be used or converted, and their validity cannot be extended. [3] Partial conversion is not permitted, and miles already converted cannot go back to Asiana mileage. [3]
  • Classes listed at 0% earn nothing, including international business P, I and R and international economy L, X and N. [4]
