How to book Azul TudoAzul award flights
Azul Fidelidade is the frequent flyer programme of Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras, the name Azul has used for it since 2024, and its award flights on Azul and on partner airlines are booked with Azul Points through Azul's own channels, with any cash fees paid separately. [6] The account holder makes the redemption, the account must be active and there must be fare availability for the flight being issued before the ticket can be confirmed. [6]
Facts checked: 18 October 2026
Key takeaways
- Award seats on Azul and on partner airlines are booked with Azul Points through Azul's official channels, and on partner flights any fees are charged to a credit card. [6]
- The points a ticket needs are not fixed in the programme regulation: Azul says the number can vary with the route, the connections, the flights available, the season and the sales channel. [6]
- For domestic awards on flights operated only by Azul, the benefits regulation in force from 13 January 2026 sets a redemption ceiling of 130,000 points at the Azul Fidelidade level and 120,000 points from Topázio upwards. [7]
- Changes and cancellations cost administrative fees under the ticket's fare rules, and points can only be returned while they are still valid. [6]
How do you book an Azul Fidelidade award?
Azul says the redemption has to be made by the participant through its official channels, where the option is available. [6] To issue the ticket the account must be regular and active, the participant must sign in through those channels, there must be fare availability for the flight being issued, and any cash fees must be paid. [6] Tickets are issued either with points alone or in the points-plus-cash modality Azul calls Pontos Azul + Dinheiro. [6]
When Azul makes redemption discounts available, the account holder has to be one of the passengers and cannot be removed from the booking after the award is issued, and the choice is made during the purchase flow. [6]
Partner airlines. Redemption on partner or accredited airlines is also made through Azul's official channels using Azul Points, with any fees charged to a credit card; Azul acts only as an intermediary in that transport contract, which is formed between the passenger and the airline that operates the flight. [6] The partner award booking checklist sets out what to confirm before issuing that kind of ticket.
How much do Azul awards cost in points and fees?
Azul says the points required can vary with the segment chosen, the number of connections, the flights available, low and high season and the sales channel used, and that the points needed, the cash fees, the destinations and the dates are shown on its official channels. [6] From 13 January 2026 the programme has five levels — Azul Fidelidade, Topázio, Safira, Diamante and Diamante Unique — and the level held when the booking is made affects the redemption ceiling that applies. [5] [7]
The rules do set a ceiling for domestic redemptions: the benefits regulation in force from 13 January 2026 caps the redemption value for domestic tickets on flights operated exclusively by Azul Linhas Aéreas, with the figure depending on the member's level at the time of booking. [7]
| Azul Fidelidade level | Ceiling per redemption |
|---|---|
| Azul Fidelidade | 130,000 Azul Points |
| Topázio, Safira, Diamante, Diamante Unique | 120,000 Azul Points |
Safira, Diamante and Diamante Unique members also receive a fixed number of Resgate Especial Azul quotas for the calendar year, each of which lowers the ceiling for one redemption. [7]
| Level | Quotas per year | Reduced ceiling |
|---|---|---|
| Safira | 5 | 70,000 Azul Points |
| Diamante | 10 | 50,000 Azul Points |
| Diamante Unique | 15 | 50,000 Azul Points |
Members who reached Safira or Diamante through an Azul product — the Azul Itaú card, Clube Azul or the Status Match challenge — cannot use these quotas, and neither can members who reached Diamante Unique through the Status Match challenge. [7]
Cash fees. Award tickets are not fee-free: issuing one requires payment of any cash fees shown, and the boarding fee, set by the aviation authorities, cannot be paid with Azul Points and has to be settled through the payment methods Azul accepts, together with any other official fees and taxes. [6] Diamante Unique members are exempt from the redemption fee on tickets issued with points or points plus cash, whether or not the account holder is one of the passengers. [7] For how programmes treat award taxes more broadly, see the airline award taxes and surcharges guide.
Who can you book an Azul award for?
The account holder can nominate a list of beneficiaries, starting from five individuals, for tickets issued with points or points plus cash, and the number allowed depends on the member's level. [6] Under the benefits regulation in force from 13 January 2026 the list holds 7 names at the Azul Fidelidade level, 8 at Topázio, 9 at Safira, 10 at Diamante and 15 at Diamante Unique. [7]
Names can be changed at any time, but a ticket can only be issued for a changed beneficiary 30 days after the change. [6] When the maximum number is reached, the same 30-day wait applies before a newly added name can be used, and if a member is reclassified to a lower level the beneficiaries removed are the last ones on the list. [7]
Issuing an award for anyone who is not an approved beneficiary is a breach that can lead to the account being suspended. [6]
Can you change or cancel an Azul award ticket?
While the ticket is within its validity, the account holder can ask to change the segment, flight or travel date of a ticket paid with Azul Points or points plus cash, paying the applicable administrative fee under the air transport contract plus any fare difference. [6] Valid unused tickets can be cancelled too, with the points returned to the account once the applicable administrative fee is paid. [6]
Changes, cancellations and refunds follow the fare rules of the ticket that was issued, and the fees are charged at the amount in force when the refund is requested. [6] Points can only be returned if they are still within their validity. [6]
Exceptions and limits
- The 130,000 and 120,000 point ceilings apply to domestic tickets on flights operated exclusively by Azul, using the level the member holds at the time of booking. [7]
- Azul Points last at least 24 months from accrual and longer by level: 2 years at Azul Fidelidade, 3 at Topázio, 4 at Safira, 5 at Diamante and 10 at Diamante Unique, while points from products or campaigns can carry the validity that product or campaign sets. [5] [7]
- Award tickets do not earn Azul Points: tickets redeemed with Azul Points, or with a combination of points and cash, do not accumulate Azul Points. [6]
- A suspended or cancelled account cannot use the points already accumulated in it. [6]
Frequently asked questions
How many Azul Points do I need for an award flight?
Azul shows the number on its official channels when you search, and it can vary with the route, the connections, availability, the season and the sales channel. [6] For domestic flights operated only by Azul, the benefits regulation in force from 13 January 2026 caps the redemption at 130,000 points at the Azul Fidelidade level and 120,000 from Topázio upwards. [7]
Can I pay the taxes on an Azul award with points?
No. The boarding fee and any other official fees and taxes are paid separately through the payment methods Azul accepts and cannot be settled with Azul Points. [6]
Can I book an Azul award for a family member?
Only for people on the account holder's beneficiary list, which starts from five names and grows with the member's level, from 7 at Azul Fidelidade to 15 at Diamante Unique. [6] [7] Issuing for anyone outside the list can lead to suspension. [6]
Do I get my points back if I cancel an Azul award?
Yes, for valid unused tickets: the points return to the account once the applicable administrative fee is paid, provided the points are still within their validity. [6]
