How to access SkyTeam lounges at Incheon Airport

SkyTeam lounge access is published by the alliance as a common policy for First and Business Class customers and SkyTeam Elite Plus members at more than 750 member lounges worldwide. [5] SkyTeam cautions that access may vary by airline, that separate domestic policies may apply to Aerolineas Plus and Delta SkyMiles members, and that Delta Sky Club and Virgin Atlantic's Heathrow Terminal 3 Clubhouse have their own rules. [5] Access is provided at departure and transfer airports, not on arrival. [5]

Key takeaways

  • SkyTeam opens its doors to Elite Plus, First and Business Class customers at more than 750 lounges worldwide, and reservations are not required. [5]
  • Under the published policy, access is tied to a same-day international flight operated by a SkyTeam member airline, or to same-day transfers between flights operated by two SkyTeam members, and it is given at departure and transfer airports only, not on arrival. [5]
  • An Elite Plus member may bring one guest, provided the guest is on the same SkyTeam member-operated flight. [5]
  • SkyTeam says lounge access cannot currently be bought through skyteam.com, and adds that access may vary by airline. [6]

Who gets into a SkyTeam lounge?

Under SkyTeam's published policy, the first route in is your cabin. Lounge access is allowed for First and Business Class customers travelling on a same-day international flight operated by a SkyTeam member airline, or with same-day transfers between flights operated by two SkyTeam members. [5] Access is provided only at your departure and transfer airports, not on arrival. [5]

Timing matters. SkyTeam states that First and Business Class customers can enjoy access at the departure airport at least three hours prior to the flight's scheduled departure time. [5] For connecting customers, both the domestic and international flights must be operated by a SkyTeam member airline, and all segments need to be booked in First or Business Class. [5] Customers travelling on domestic flights must have an itinerary comprising a transfer from a domestic flight to an international flight, or a domestic flight to another domestic flight followed by a transfer to an international flight. [5]

At the door, present your First or Business Class boarding pass to the lounge agent for validation before admission. [5] SkyTeam notes that lounge access may vary by airline and directs travellers to its Lounge Finder for more details. [5]

Does Elite Plus status get you in regardless of cabin?

Yes, within the published policy's conditions. Regardless of travel class, eligible SkyTeam Elite Plus members travelling on a same-day international flight operated by a SkyTeam member airline, or with same-day transfers between flights operated by two SkyTeam members, have lounge access. [5] The same three-hour window applies at the departure airport, and Elite Plus customers connecting between two SkyTeam-operated flights keep access at the point of transfer. [5] Access remains limited to departure and transfer airports, not arrival at the destination. [5]

Present your boarding pass and a valid Elite Plus membership card to the lounge agent for validation before admission. [5]

Domestic flying is treated separately. Since 1 April 2025, SkyTeam Elite Plus customers have also had lounge access when travelling on domestic flights, at select SkyTeam member airline lounges, with more than 70 lounges open to Elite Plus travellers on domestic itineraries so far and further locations planned. [5] Customers on a domestic-only itinerary may have access to select lounges. [5] Separate domestic lounge access policies may apply to members of Aerolineas Argentinas' Aerolineas Plus and Delta Air Lines' SkyMiles programs. [5]

Can you bring a guest or buy access?

SkyTeam Elite Plus members can invite one guest, who must be travelling on the same SkyTeam member-operated flight, irrespective of that guest's preceding and any onward flights. [5] Present the guest's boarding pass to the lounge agent for validation and admission. [5]

Buying access through the alliance's own site is not an option: SkyTeam states that it is not currently possible to purchase lounge access via skyteam.com. [6] Reservations are not required for entry under the published policy. [6]

Exceptions and limits

  • Delta Sky Club carve-outs. Complimentary access to Delta Sky Clubs is no longer extended to Delta SkyMiles Elite Plus equivalent members — SkyMiles Diamond, Platinum and Gold Medallion — when flying in Main Cabin or Delta Comfort+ internationally. [5] Effective 1 January 2024, Delta SkyMiles members travelling in Basic Economy or an equivalent partner cabin do not have Delta Sky Club access; Elite Plus members of other SkyTeam member frequent flyer programmes are not affected. [5]
  • What Delta elites can still use. Delta SkyTeam Elite Plus members flying on a Delta or other SkyTeam-operated flight can continue to access other SkyTeam member airline-owned lounges and SkyTeam branded lounges, while third-party lounges are excluded. [5]
  • Programme-specific domestic rules. Separate domestic lounge access policies may apply to members of Aerolineas Argentinas' Aerolineas Plus and Delta SkyMiles. [5]
  • International defined. For the purpose of this policy, international travel excludes customers travelling between the US and the Caribbean. [5]
  • Airline-specific lounges. The access policy for Virgin Atlantic's Clubhouse at London Heathrow Terminal 3 is published on virginatlantic.com rather than in the alliance policy. [5] SkyTeam states plainly that lounge access may vary by airline. [5]
  • Check the Lounge Finder. SkyTeam says access may vary by airline and directs customers to its Lounge Finder for more details. [5]
