PROGRAMME PROFILE
SkyTeam Lounge
SkyTeam Lounge is the shared lounge brand that the SkyTeam airline alliance presents under its own name, distinct from the lounges owned by its member airlines. [1] SkyTeam says it aims to offer lounge access to Elite Plus, First and Business Class customers at more than 750 lounges worldwide, and that reservations are not required. [1] The branded properties the alliance names are in Frankfurt, Vancouver, Sydney, Santiago de Chile and Dubai, alongside a joint lounge with Global Lounge Network at São Paulo Guarulhos. [1]

Key takeaways
- SkyTeam Lounge is the alliance's own shared lounge brand; the properties SkyTeam names are Frankfurt, Vancouver, Sydney, Santiago de Chile and Dubai, plus a joint lounge with Global Lounge Network at São Paulo. [1]
- Access is open to SkyTeam Elite Plus members regardless of travel class, and to First and Business Class customers, on eligible same-day itineraries operated by SkyTeam member airlines. [1]
- Lounges are available at departure and transfer airports only, not on arrival, and access cannot currently be bought through skyteam.com. [1]
The SkyTeam-branded lounges
SkyTeam describes its branded estate airport by airport. Frankfurt (FRA) is presented as the flagship European lounge, a 550 m² space seating 126 guests with panoramic airfield views. [1] Vancouver (YVR) is built in two separate wings with floor-to-ceiling windows looking over the runway and the mountains beyond. [1] Sydney (SYD) was redesigned with greater sustainability in mind, and Santiago de Chile (SCL) is described as the alliance's latest SkyTeam Lounge and its first in South America. [1] Dubai (DXB) covers more than 960 square metres. [1]
One further property is a joint venture: at São Paulo-Guarulhos (GRU), SkyTeam and Global Lounge Network opened their first joint lounge, in Terminal 2, open 24 hours, for SkyTeam Elite Plus, First and Business Class customers flying on services operated by Air Europa. [1]
Those named airports are not the whole network. SkyTeam's Lounge Finder covers 750+ member lounges worldwide for Elite Plus, First and Business Class customers, which includes lounges owned by member airlines rather than by the alliance. [1] The alliance's About page gives 850+ as its number of lounges, while the home page refers to "one of our 750 lounges"; the two published figures differ. [6] [7]
Who can use a SkyTeam lounge
By status. Eligible Elite Plus members have access regardless of the class they fly, provided they travel on a same-day international flight operated by a SkyTeam member airline, or with same-day transfers between flights, domestic or international, operated by two SkyTeam members. [1]
By cabin. First and Business Class customers are admitted on a same-day international flight operated by a SkyTeam member airline, or with same-day transfers between flights operated by two SkyTeam members. [1] For connecting itineraries, both the domestic and the international flights must be operated by a SkyTeam member, and every segment must be booked in First or Business Class. [1]
Where and when. In both tracks, access is provided at departure and transfer airports only, not on arrival at the destination, and at the departure airport it is offered from at least three hours before the flight's scheduled departure time. [1] Elite Plus customers connecting between two SkyTeam-operated flights keep access at the point of transfer. [1]
Domestic itineraries. A customer travelling on a domestic flight must have an itinerary that connects a domestic flight to an international one, or a domestic flight to another domestic flight followed by a transfer to an international flight. [1] Elite Plus customers on a domestic-only itinerary may have access to select lounges. [1]
At the door. First and Business Class customers present their boarding pass for validation, while Elite Plus members present their boarding passes and a valid Elite Plus membership card. [1] SkyTeam adds that lounge access may vary by airline and points readers to the Lounge Finder for details. [1]
Guests, domestic access and Delta rules
Elite Plus members may invite one guest, who must be travelling on the same SkyTeam member-operated flight, irrespective of any preceding or onward flight; the guest's boarding pass is presented for admission. [1]
Since 1 April 2025, Elite Plus customers have also had lounge access when travelling on domestic flights, at select SkyTeam member airline lounges. [1] SkyTeam says more than 70 lounges are now accessible to Elite Plus travellers on domestic itineraries and that it plans to extend the benefit gradually, and notes that separate domestic lounge access policies may apply to members of Aerolíneas Argentinas' Aerolíneas Plus and Delta Air Lines' SkyMiles. [1]
Delta Sky Clubs sit under their own house rule. Complimentary lounge access there is no longer extended to Delta SkyMiles Elite Plus equivalent members — SkyMiles Diamond, Platinum and Gold Medallion — when flying in Main Cabin or Delta Comfort+ internationally. [1] From 1 January 2024, Delta SkyMiles members travelling in Basic Economy or an equivalent partner cabin do not have Delta Sky Club access, while SkyTeam Elite Plus members of other member programmes are not affected. [1] Delta SkyTeam Elite Plus members flying on a Delta or other SkyTeam-operated flight can continue to use other member airline owned lounges and SkyTeam-branded lounges; third-party lounges are excluded. [1]
Exceptions and limits
- This profile covers lounges SkyTeam brands and describes itself. Member airlines' own branded lounges and airport contract lounges used at individual airports are outside it, and the network totals published by SkyTeam cover lounges reached through the Lounge Finder, not only SkyTeam-branded properties. [1] [6]
- For SkyTeam's published policy, "international travel" excludes customers travelling between the US and the Caribbean. [1]
- The access policy for Virgin Atlantic's Clubhouse at London Heathrow Terminal 3 is published on virginatlantic.com rather than within SkyTeam's own policy. [1]
- Access cannot currently be purchased through skyteam.com. [1]
