PROGRAMME PROFILE

Delta Sky Club: Lounge Programme Profile

Delta Sky Club is Delta Air Lines' airport lounge programme, listed on Delta's own site as a section separate from the SkyMiles pages [2]. Delta's SkyMiles program rules treat a Sky Club membership as an ancillary purchase that earns neither miles nor Medallion Qualification Dollars [2] [5], and they hold members to a separate set of Sky Club House Rules [2].

Key takeaways

  • Delta Sky Club is Delta's own lounge programme, and the SkyMiles program rules refer to Sky Club House Rules as a separate set of rules a member must follow [2].
  • A Sky Club membership sits on the ancillary side of the programme: the membership itself, and food and drink bought in a club, do not earn miles or Medallion Qualification Dollars [2] [5].
  • Delta publishes its Medallion ladder and card-linked MQD benefits, but not which cabin, status tier or card product opens the door to a Sky Club, nor the guest rules [2] [3] [4] [5].
  • Delta states that benefits are subject to change at any time and that the rules in force at the time of travel, or of the request for a benefit, govern that transaction [2].

Membership, house rules and mileage earning

Delta's SkyMiles program rules list "Delta Sky Club memberships" and "Delta Sky Club food and beverage purchases" among the ancillary purchases and fees that do not count toward earning miles or Medallion Qualification Dollars [2]. The same exclusion appears on Delta's Medallion qualification page, in the list of fees that do not count toward MQDs [5]. A Sky Club membership is therefore handled as a spend separate from the mileage side of the programme, and buying food or drink inside a club does not add to a member's mileage balance [2].

The SkyMiles rules also name "Delta Sky Club or Delta One Lounge House Rules" in their termination clause, as rules a member's travel must comply with [2]. Delta reserves the right to terminate a member's SkyMiles membership — including Medallion Status, Million Miler qualification and invitation to the 360 Program — where a member violates those house rules or other Delta rules that apply to their travel [2]. Termination results in the loss of all accumulated mileage credit, cancellation of unused award tickets and upgrade certificates, and the loss of other SkyMiles benefits [2].

Two framing points apply to everything on this page. Delta states that all benefits it offers in the SkyMiles program are subject to change at any time, and that unless otherwise stated the rules in effect at the time of travel, or of the request for a benefit or other transaction, govern that transaction [2]. Delta also reserves the sole right to interpret and apply its Membership Guide and Program Rules [2]. A summary such as this one therefore cannot replace the terms in force on the date of travel [2].

Access routes: what the sources publish

Delta publishes a four-tier Medallion ladder. For 2027 status, earned on spending during the 2026 calendar year, the thresholds are $5,000 MQDs for Silver, $10,000 for Gold, $15,000 for Platinum and $28,000 for Diamond, with status valid from the day it is earned until 31 January 2028 [5].

The Status Match Challenge page sets out what a matched Medallion member receives: unlimited complimentary upgrades for the member and a travel companion, waived baggage fees, priority boarding, preferred seats, and, for Platinum Medallion members, a Choice Benefit selection [3]. Sky Club access is not among the benefits described there [3]. The Million Miler page likewise lists annual complimentary Medallion Status, a higher priority position for complimentary upgrades, bag tags and gifts, without describing lounge entry [4].

On the card side, Delta's Medallion pages describe the Delta SkyMiles American Express card family, including a $2,500 MQD Headstart for each of the Platinum, Platinum Business, Reserve and Reserve Business cards in a qualification year, and MQD earning on eligible card spending [5].

Exceptions and limits

  • The rules quoted are the SkyMiles rules. The Sky Club references on this page come from the SkyMiles Membership Guide and Program Rules, which Delta treats separately from the Sky Club House Rules it names [2]. This profile therefore describes where the lounge programme sits in Delta's rulebook, not the conditions of entry [2].
  • Sky Club and Delta One Lounge are named separately.
  • Partner lounges are outside this page.
  • Silence in a summary is not a denial. A benefit missing from the Medallion benefit summaries reproduced above may still be set out in a Sky Club document that was not available for this profile; those summaries are benefit highlights rather than a complete statement of access [3] [4].
  • Change and interpretation. Because Delta states that benefits can change at any time and that the rules in force at the time of travel or request govern [2], access conditions can differ from the date printed on this page.
