How to qualify for United MileagePlus Premier status

How does United MileagePlus Premier qualification work?

The rules in this guide apply to United MileagePlus Premier for the 2026 qualification year; status-match and challenge routes are outside its scope. [5] United has used PQP and PQF to award Premier status since 1 January 2020, when it stopped using Premier qualifying miles, segments and dollars. [7] PQP means Premier Qualifying Points and PQF means Premier Qualifying Flights. [7] United also uses the umbrella term Premier Qualifying Credits for PQP, PQF and any other Premier qualification metric it adopts. [7]

For each Premier level, United publishes a PQF-plus-PQP route and a higher PQP-only route. [5] The qualification window for 2026 runs from 1 January to 31 December 2026. [5] United calculates qualification and any revisions in its discretion and treats those calculations as final. [7]
