COURSE

Start here: Emirates NBD Plus Points — how the cards earn, the statement caps, the ways to redeem and keeping points alive

Plus Points is the credit card loyalty programme of Emirates NBD, earned on everyday spending with an Emirates NBD credit card and redeemed through Rewards Hub, at participating stores, for Nol top up, frequent flyer miles, cashback, donations and education fees [1] [2]. This six-step course covers what the programme is, how the cards earn, the statement caps, the redemption routes and how to keep points alive, and ends with one concrete task [1] [2].

Facts checked: 19 October 2026

Key takeaways

  • Plus Points are earned on retail purchases made with an Emirates NBD credit card; the card type and transaction determine the number of points [1].
  • The caps table sets a maximum per statement by card type, from 500 to 5,000 Plus Points [1].
  • Only retail spends earn; loans on the card, cash advances, bank fees and charges, balance transfers and 0% instalment payment plans do not [1].
  • Only the primary credit cardholder can redeem, using the primary card, and Plus Points do not expire while an Emirates NBD card is active [2].
  • Redemption routes are Rewards Hub (travel, experiences, gift cards, Apple Shop and points transfers), instant redemptions, Nol top up, frequent flyer miles, education fees, donations and cashback, each at its stated rate or minimum [2].

What you will be able to do after this course

  • Explain what Plus Points are and who can earn them.
  • Find the statement cap that applies to a card type.
  • Identify transactions that do not earn Plus Points.
  • Choose a redemption route and check its minimum before you redeem.

Step 1: What Plus Points are and who they suit

You will learn: what the Plus Points programme rewards and which conditions apply to the benefit.

Plus Points rewards everyday spending on an Emirates NBD credit card, and the help pages list a set of Emirates NBD cards as earning it, including Priority Banking Visa Infinite, Visa Infinite, Visa Platinum, Mastercard Platinum, Visa Flexi, Go4it Platinum, Go4it Gold, Mastercard Titanium, Diners Club and WebShopper [1]. To benefit from a reward or feature, you must have a valid credit card in good standing that complies with the credit card documents and any additional terms, and violating the applicable terms may disqualify you [4].

Each rewards programme may have its own terms and conditions, available on the website or as specified by the Bank, and those terms govern eligibility, operation and redemption [4]. The Bank is not the supplier of third-party rewards and does not warrant their quality, merchantability or fitness; third-party rewards are accepted as is at your own risk [4]. The Bank may introduce charges for rewards features and may amend features, value, validity, eligibility and redemption requirements; it will reasonably endeavour to notify you but may do so without notice [4]. The three Plus Points help pages set out earning, redemption and card-to-card transfers; the parts of those pages extracted here show no separate Plus Points terms document and no version date [1] [2] [3]. The general terms for Reward Programs are in the Consumer Banking Products Terms and Conditions (v. August 14, 2023) [4]. The course suits Emirates NBD credit cardholders who want to know where Plus Points come from, what caps apply and what the points can become [1] [2].

Step 2: How you join

You will learn: how enrolment happens and what changes when you hold a supplementary or replacement card.

Enrolment is automatic when you activate your Emirates NBD credit card [1]. Participating in a rewards programme means you are deemed to have accepted its terms and conditions, in addition to the general terms [4]. Rewards earned on a supplementary credit card are transferred to the primary credit card, but not all features and rewards apply to a supplementary credit card, so check with the Bank [1] [4]. If your card is replaced, your rewards transfer to the new Emirates NBD card [1].

The Bank may suspend or terminate membership in a rewards programme at any time, and may do so without notifying you in advance if you breach the general terms or the programme terms, fail to pay outstanding amounts due within the prescribed time, are suspected of or found in fraudulent activity, or for any other valid reason [4].

Step 3: How earning works

You will learn: which transactions earn Plus Points and how the statement caps are printed.

You earn Plus Points every time you make a retail purchase with your credit card, on domestic and international spends, and the card type and transaction determine the number of points [1]. Only retail spends earn: loans on your card, cash advances, bank fees and charges, balance transfers and 0% instalment payment plans do not [1]. Converting to a Balance Conversion Plan neither earns nor loses reward points, and no reward points are earned on a Balance Transfer amount [3].

The cap is per statement by card type: Priority Banking Visa Infinite 5,000 Plus Points; Visa Infinite and Go4it Platinum 3,000; Visa Platinum, Mastercard Platinum, Visa Flexi, Go4it Gold and Diners Club 2,000; Titanium 1,000; and Webshopper 500 [1]. The Duo entry in the 2,000 row carries a ** footnote: the table places Duo in that row, while the footnote states that, effective 5 April 2025, you can earn a maximum of 500 Plus Points per statement; the two figures differ [1]. Business Credit Card appears in the list of cards that earn Plus Points, but the caps table does not list it [1].

Step 4: How to redeem Plus Points

You will learn: who can redeem and what each redemption route requires.

Plus Points can be redeemed on all active cards, but only the primary credit cardholder can redeem points, using the primary credit card [2]. Redemption is subject to the Bank's approval, the availability of the reward when requested and any terms imposed by the third-party supplier or issuer [4].

  • Rewards Hub on ENBD X covers travel, experiences, gift cards and Apple Shop at 1 Plus Point = AED 1 [2].
  • Points Transfer sends Plus Points to Qatar Airways at 1 Plus Point = 14 Avios, Air India at 1 Plus Point = 20 Maharaja Points, Philippine Airlines at 1 Plus Point = 11 Mabuhay Miles, Air Arabia at 1 Plus Point = 14 Air Rewards and Shukran at 1 Plus Point = 13 Shukrans, credited within 7 working days from request submission [2].
  • Instant redemption at participating stores is at 1 Plus Point = AED 1; you tell the cashier how many points to use, the transaction slip summarises the redemption, and partial redemption is prompted at the point of sale [2].
  • Nol top up is at 1 Plus Point = AED 1, with at least 20 points; a maximum of 5,000 Plus Points can be redeemed at once for Nol cards linked to a Go4it credit card, and 1,000 at once for other RTA Nol cards [2].
  • Frequent flyer miles require at least 500 Plus Points: Emirates Skywards at 1 Plus Point = 7 Skywards Miles and Etihad Guest at 1 Plus Point = 10 Etihad Guest Miles, with Etihad Guest miles available only through Phone Banking [2]. Once points are redeemed for frequent flyer miles, the frequent flyer programme's terms and conditions apply [1] [2].
  • Cashback pays the card bill at 1 Plus Point = AED 0.75, with a minimum of 500 Plus Points and a card outstanding of at least AED 375; it is counted as a payment, and if auto debit is active you must redeem at least 24 hours before the due date or the full auto debit amount is debited and the cashback goes towards the next payment [2].
  • Donations to the Emirates Humanitarian Fund are at 1 Plus Point = AED 1 [2]. Education fees are paid at 1 Plus Point = AED 1 with at least 100 points: pay the university or school fee in full by card first, then request redemption (a partial amount of the fee can also be offset), and the points are credited as a payment to the card within 7 working days and appear on the next statement [2].

For a damaged, defective or missing reward, raise the matter with the supplier; for damage or defect, notify the supplier within the period stated on the supplier's receipt, and the Bank will use reasonable efforts to facilitate the complaint but has no liability for the damage or defect [4]. For Rewards Hub queries, email [email protected] or call 800-REWARDS (739 2737) [2].

Step 5: Moving and keeping your points

You will learn: when Plus Points lapse, how card-to-card transfers work and how programme changes can affect value.

Plus Points do not expire as long as you have an active Emirates NBD card, and once redeemed for frequent flyer miles the frequent flyer programme's terms apply [1] [2] [3]. You can transfer reward points between your credit cards if both cards are under the same banking profile and the same reward programme; the eligible reward programmes are credit card Plus Points, Red Points and dnata Points, so a transfer stays within the same reward programme [3].

The Bank may limit or change the value or validity of points and the manner of redemption, change the eligibility criteria for transactions that accrue points or the number of points needed for a reward, and cancel a reward and substitute another of comparable nature and value [4]. Those rights may diminish the redemption value of points already earned, and you will not have a claim for compensation for such losses [4].

Step 6: Your first concrete action

You will learn: the first checks to make on your own Emirates NBD card account.

  1. Activate your Emirates NBD credit card, which enrols you automatically (Earning Plus Points) [1].
  2. Find your card's cap per statement in the caps table and read any footnote that applies to your card (Earning Plus Points) [1].
  3. Keep cash advances, balance transfers and 0% instalment payment plans out of your points expectations [1] [3].
  4. Redeem from the primary card, and check the minimums before you choose miles, cashback or education fees (Redeeming Plus Points) [2].
  5. Keep at least one Emirates NBD card active so the balance does not lapse [1].

Next: go to the Emirates NBD Plus Points programme hub for the programme pages, then use Start here for the wider reading path.
