PROGRAMME PROFILE

TD Aeroplan Credit Cards

TD Aeroplan Credit Cards are Canadian Visa credit cards issued by TD Canada Trust that earn Aeroplan points — the rewards currency of the Aeroplan programme, operated by Air Canada's subsidiary Aeroplan Inc. — on eligible purchases. TD lists three consumer versions, with annual fees of $89, $139 and $599 as of 1 September 2026. [1]

Facts checked: 18 October 2026

Key takeaways

  • TD lists three consumer Aeroplan cards — the TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum Card, the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card and the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Card — with annual fees of $89, $139 and $599 as of 1 September 2026, each showing 21.99% interest on purchases and 22.99% on cash advances. [1]
  • Each consumer card carries a promotional offer: TD values the Infinite offer at up to $1,550 including up to 50,000 Aeroplan points, the Platinum offer at up to $500 including up to 20,000 Aeroplan points, and the Infinite Privilege offer at up to $3,300 including up to 100,000 Aeroplan points. [1]
  • TD says your Aeroplan points will not expire provided you are the primary cardholder of a TD Aeroplan credit card and your Aeroplan account is in good standing. [1]

Which TD Aeroplan cards are there and what do they cost?

TD's Aeroplan line-up in Canada contains three consumer Visa cards, plus a Visa Business card that is a separate commercial product. [1] The published annual fees, interest rates and features below are stated as effective on 1 September 2026 unless TD indicates otherwise, and are subject to change. [1]

TD Aeroplan consumer cards, fees as of 1 September 2026

TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card$13921.99%22.99%
TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Card$59921.99%22.99%

The higher-tier cards differ mainly in the size of their welcome offer, the annual fee and the value TD places on the first-year rebate: the Infinite offer counts a $139 primary annual fee and a $75 additional-cardholder fee as rebated, while the Platinum offer counts $89 and $35. [1] A TD credit card account can carry up to three additional cardholders. [2]

What welcome offers do the TD Aeroplan cards carry?

TD frames each card offer as a combined first-year value and then breaks the value into points plus a first-year annual fee rebate. [1] The points component of the two lower-tier offers is earned in stages.

To qualify for the Infinite or Platinum offer, the applicant must be approved while the offer is in effect and must not have opened any TD-Aeroplan Visa card account in the previous 12 months. [1] The first-year annual fee rebate on the Infinite is released only if the primary cardholder activates the card and makes a first eligible purchase within the first three months after account opening, and any additional cardholders must be added within three months; the rebate then appears within two monthly statements of the first statement that carries the annual fee. [1]

On the Infinite, TD values the first checked bags for two people on a round-trip flight at $140 and a NEXUS application fee statement credit of up to $100 CAD per primary and additional cardholder at $200, with the remaining $1,000 coming from the 50,000 points at a valuation of two cents per point. [1] Cardholders should expect up to eight weeks after meeting each condition for bonus points to reach the linked Aeroplan account, which must belong to the primary cardholder. [1]

How do you earn and redeem Aeroplan points with TD?

TD says cardholders earn Aeroplan points on all eligible purchases and earn more in additional purchase categories. [1] Points can be earned twice on the same spend when the cardholder pays with the card and supplies an Aeroplan number at more than 150 Aeroplan partner brands and at over 200 online retailers through the Aeroplan eStore. [1] Cardholders who link a TD Aeroplan Visa card to a Starbucks Rewards account earn 50% more Aeroplan points, plus extra Starbucks Stars, at participating Starbucks stores under conditions set by the programme. [1]

On redemption, TD describes Aeroplan as making every Air Canada seat that can be bought for cash available for points, with no restrictions and no blackout periods, and points can also go toward hotel rooms, car rentals, merchandise, experiences and gift certificates. [1] Aeroplan points have no cash value, and the retail value of the rewards obtained varies with the type of reward. [1]

Two further benefits apply across the TD Aeroplan cards. TD says points will not expire while the cardholder remains the primary cardholder of a TD Aeroplan card and the Aeroplan account is in good standing. [1] The cards also come with a suite of travel insurance coverages, including collision coverage for car rentals, and with Air Canada travel perks such as a free first checked bag, subject to conditions. [1] [2]

Exceptions and limits

  • Offer eligibility is narrow. The Infinite and Platinum offers exclude anyone who has opened a TD-Aeroplan Visa card account in the last 12 months, and the account must be in good standing when bonus points are issued. [1]
  • Bonus points can be withheld or revoked. Aeroplan programme terms allow TD and Aeroplan to decline or revoke incentive points, for example where the applicant has already received welcome or other incentive Aeroplan points for a new Aeroplan credit card with TD or another issuer of the same card category type. [1]
  • Closing the account. Closing the account or moving to another TD credit card account may forfeit any bonus points not yet awarded. [1]
  • Offers are not stackable. Each offer cannot be combined with another offer unless TD says otherwise, and TD reserves the right to limit the number of accounts one person may open and to change, suspend or withdraw an offer at any time. [1]
  • Not a TD consumer card. The TD Aeroplan Visa Business Card is a business product with its own $149 annual fee and 14.99% purchase interest, and is not one of the three consumer cards compared above. [1]
  • Other issuers are outside this profile. Aeroplan cards issued by CIBC or by American Express are separate products with their own terms, so a rule described here for a TD card does not carry across to them. [1]
