How to use Chase Sapphire Reserve lounge access
Chase Sapphire Reserve lounge access is the group of airport lounge benefits Chase attaches to the Sapphire Reserve card: entry to Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club and to lounges and experiences in the Priority Pass Select network, each with up to two guests included, plus access to select Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges and Air Canada Cafés on an eligible boarding pass. [1]

Key takeaways
- Chase advertises complimentary access to Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club and to more than 1,300 Priority Pass airport lounges worldwide with up to two guests. [1]
- Priority Pass Select membership is automatically activated for the primary cardmember and for any authorized users on the account, and each of them may bring a maximum of two accompanying guests. [1]
- Further Priority Pass guests cost $27 per guest, per visit, charged to the card after the additional guest visits have been signed for in the lounge. [1]
- Entry requires a valid physical credit card or a Priority Pass digital membership card; a credit card held in a digital wallet is not accepted at the lounge door. [1]
The three networks on the card
Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club. Chase says cardmembers can use any Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club with up to two complimentary guests. [1] The same page lists the lounge network separately as a benefit valued at over $850 a year, a figure Chase calculates from the $469 annual value of Priority Pass Select membership plus four Chase Sapphire Lounge day passes at $100 each. [1] That is Chase's own valuation, not a value the cardmember is paid in cash. [1]
Priority Pass Select. The card comes with a complimentary Priority Pass Select membership giving access to airport lounges and select airport experiences in the Priority Pass Select network, described by Chase as more than 1,300 Priority Pass airport lounges worldwide. [1] The programme notes that certain terms, conditions and exclusions apply. [1]
Air Canada lounges. Chase also lists access to select Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges and Air Canada Cafés in the U.S., Canada and Europe with an eligible boarding pass. [1]
Guests and the $27 charge
For Priority Pass, Chase grants the primary cardmember and any authorized users complimentary access and allows them a maximum of two accompanying guests each. [1] Any additional guest is charged at $27 per guest, per visit. [1] The charge reaches the card only after the member has signed for the additional guest visits in the participating lounge and those visits have been reported to Priority Pass. [1]
The $27 figure appears in the Priority Pass Select terms. [1] At Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club, the allowance is up to two complimentary guests. [1]
Authorized users matter here because their membership is activated automatically alongside the primary cardmember's. [1] Chase prices additional authorized users on the Sapphire Reserve at $195 each, separate from the lounge terms. [1]
Enrolment and getting through the door
Chase's terms state that the primary cardmember and any authorized users have their Priority Pass Select membership automatically activated. [1] Access is granted to the member presenting a valid physical credit card or a Priority Pass digital membership card, and a valid credit card in a digital wallet will not be accepted for lounge access. [1]
The credit card account must be open and not in default to keep the membership. [1] Access may be denied if a lounge is at capacity. [1] Participating lounges are owned and operated by independent third parties, and their participation or facilities may change. [1] The membership is also subject to the Priority Pass Select terms and conditions. [1]
Lounge access and card points are governed by different documents with different wording. [1] [3] The Ultimate Rewards program agreement version checked here, the Ink Business Preferred edition, says points do not expire as long as the account is open and that all points are lost immediately if the account status changes or the account is closed for misuse or fraud. [3] That is a points rule only; it says nothing about lounge entry, which depends on the separate condition that the card account stays open and not in default. [1]
Exceptions and limits
- Not an all-lounge pass. The benefit is limited to the networks Chase names on the card page: Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club, Priority Pass Select lounges and experiences, and select Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges and Air Canada Cafés. [1] Access to any other lounge brand is not part of these terms. [1]
- Guest caps are per visit. Two guests are included in each visit, and the $27 charge applies to each further guest on each visit rather than once per year. [1]
- No published visit limit.
- Card format. A physical card or the Priority Pass digital membership card is required, so a member who relies on a wallet-stored card alone cannot expect entry. [1]
- Programme change. Lounge participation and facilities can change because participating lounges are run by independent third parties, and the Priority Pass Select terms apply on top of Chase's own conditions. [1]
- Scope of these terms. The lounge wording quoted here comes from Chase's U.S. card page for the Sapphire Reserve personal card, and the Priority Pass Select paragraph names the Sapphire Reserve and J.P. Morgan Reserve personal cards and The Ritz-Carlton. [1]
