Rate type. IHG members will not earn Points on the room rate and/or enjoy member benefits during a stay on most non-qualifying rates, which include complimentary rooms, airline or travel-partner passenger rates caused by travel delays, online travel agency and other third-party channel bookings (but not "Authorized Travel Agents", i.e. platforms operating under direct distribution agreements with IHG that provide for Qualifying Stays), tour operator and wholesaler rates, seasonal worker and crew rates, and group rates, unless the member individually pays the hotel for their own room and it is not paid as part of the group's master account. Exceptions and limits
- Both programmes can change what a benefit is worth: Marriott Bonvoy may change, limit, modify or cancel benefits with or without notice, even where a change affects the value members receive, and IHG One Rewards may update its membership terms and modify, suspend or cancel the programme at any time.
