How to earn and redeem KrisFlyer miles on Scoot flights

Scoot and KrisFlyer is the link that lets members of KrisFlyer, the Singapore Airlines frequent flyer programme, collect miles on Scoot-operated flights and spend KrisFlyer miles on Flyscoot.com bookings. On itineraries made up entirely of Scoot-operated flights, miles are earned on the value of the fare rather than the distance flown: one KrisFlyer mile per Singapore dollar of fare and selected ancillaries paid by credit or debit card, plus 2.5 Elite miles for every KrisFlyer mile earned. [4] [5] [7]

Facts checked: 18 October 2026

Key takeaways

  • Scoot-only itineraries booked through Flyscoot.com or the Scoot mobile app earn KrisFlyer miles on fare value, at one KrisFlyer mile per Singapore dollar of fare and selected ancillaries paid by card. [4] [7]
  • Scoot-operated flights earn Elite miles at 2.5 per KrisFlyer mile earned, but no PPS Value, and the 25% tier bonus for PPS Club members does not apply. [4] [5]
  • KrisFlyer miles can pay for Scoot fares, airport taxes and selected ancillaries at the initial booking on Flyscoot.com, for the member and their redemption nominees. [4] [7]
  • Itineraries that mix Singapore Airlines and Scoot sectors are credited by distance and fare class instead of fare value. [7]

How do Scoot flights earn KrisFlyer miles?

KrisFlyer miles are awarded for tickets bought in the programme's cabins on participating airlines, and Scoot is named among those airlines. [7] The method of calculation depends on the itinerary. Where every sector is operated by Scoot and the booking is made on Flyscoot.com and/or the Scoot mobile app, miles are awarded on the value of the fare, excluding taxes, and on selected ancillaries paid with a credit or debit card. [7]

The published rate for tickets issued on or after 26 April 2018 is one KrisFlyer mile per Singapore dollar spent on fares and selected ancillaries, although accrual levels can vary by itinerary and booking class, and the rate is subject to change without notice. [4]

Do Scoot flights earn Elite miles and PPS Value?

Yes for Elite miles. A member earns 2.5 Elite miles for every KrisFlyer mile earned from flying on a Scoot-operated flight, and the KrisFlyer membership number has to be included at booking, or added through Manage Booking on flyscoot.com, at least 24 hours before the flight. [4] [5] Elite miles are the status currency used for KrisFlyer Elite Silver, at 25,000 Elite miles earned within 12 consecutive months, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold, at 50,000 within the same period. [5]

PPS Value is different: it is not awarded for Scoot-operated flights, and the 25% tier bonus for PPS Club members is not applicable to them. [4] Where a booking is part paid with miles, Elite miles are calculated only on the cash portion actually paid, excluding taxes, and a fare settled entirely with KrisFlyer miles earns no Elite miles. [5] Tier bonus miles and promotional bonus miles do not count towards Elite miles. [5]

How do you add a KrisFlyer number to a Scoot booking?

If the flight has not yet been flown and the member did not log in or key in a KrisFlyer number for themselves, their redemption nominees or their travelling party during the booking, the numbers can still be entered when managing the booking on Flyscoot.com or in the Scoot mobile app. [4] To collect the miles and Elite miles, the membership number should be included at booking or added through the booking management tool at least 24 hours before departure. [4] The digital KrisFlyer membership card is the document presented during travel on Singapore Airlines or Scoot for membership privileges. [7]

How do you claim missing miles for a Scoot flight?

Miles from Scoot-operated flights normally appear in a KrisFlyer account within two to four weeks. If they are still missing after four weeks, a retro mileage claim can be submitted. [4] Claims are accepted within six months of the flight's completion, and the general programme terms set the same six-month window from the transaction date, with online requests available for airline flights or a Retroactive Mileage Credit Request Form as an alternative. [4] [7] Retroactive credits may take up to eight weeks after receipt to reach the account. [7] A missing miles request is only entertained where the traveller identified themselves as a KrisFlyer member at reservation and presented the membership card at check-in, or when using a partner's services. [7] The step-by-step process is set out in how to claim missing miles.

How do you use KrisFlyer miles to pay for a Scoot flight?

KrisFlyer miles can be used on Flyscoot.com and in the Scoot mobile app to pay for part or all of Scoot airfares, airport taxes and selected ancillaries, excluding e-visa, travel insurance, Scoot Protect, infant fares and card processing fees, on itineraries operated by Scoot. [4] [7] The redemption has to happen at the initial point of booking: miles cannot be used to offset further fees or purchases made later in Manage My Booking or at the check-in counter. [7]

Members can pay with miles for their own booking or for any of their redemption nominees, up to five individuals, and redemption of Economy Class travel on selected Scoot flights is made on Flyscoot.com or the Scoot app. [4] [7] Redemption is online only: it is not available through the Scoot Guest Relations Hotline, KrisFlyer Membership Services or Singapore Airlines reservations and ticketing offices. [4] [7] Each redemption is subject to a minimum number of miles and to a miles redemption rate published on singaporeair.com; the rate in force at ticket issuance applies, and there is no refund of miles if the rate changes afterwards. [7]

Exceptions and limits

  • Mixed itineraries. For itineraries that combine Singapore Airlines-operated and Scoot-operated flights, miles are awarded on actual distance travelled using the great circle distance formula, fare class and applicable bonuses, not on fare value. [7]
  • Tickets that do not earn. No KrisFlyer miles are earned on industry or agency discounted tickets, award tickets or redemption tickets, infant fares and other specially discounted tickets, or on charter flights. [7]
  • One programme per flight. Members are eligible for credit in only one frequent flyer programme for each flight or transaction, and miles awarded under two programmes for the same flight are forfeited. [7]
  • Payment restrictions. Miles cannot be used for tickets bought through travel agents or ticket offices, or for corporate fares, group fares, or itineraries that include a segment not operated by Scoot, such as codeshares, interline or round-the-world itineraries. [7]
  • Ticket conditions. Tickets redeemed fully or partly with KrisFlyer miles are non-endorsable, and tickets booked on Flyscoot.com are strictly non-refundable, subject to the fare conditions of the booking. [4] [7]
  • Access redemption. The Access redemption option is available only on flights operated by Singapore Airlines and cannot be used on Scoot flights. [4]
  • Nominee timing. Redemption bookings are not available for flights departing within 72 hours of a nominee being added or replaced. [4]

Frequently asked questions

Do Scoot flights earn KrisFlyer miles?

Yes, on itineraries made up entirely of Scoot-operated flights booked on Flyscoot.com or the Scoot app, at one KrisFlyer mile per Singapore dollar of fare and selected ancillaries paid by card, with e-visa, travel insurance, Scoot Protect, infant fares and card processing fees excluded. [4] [7]

How many Elite miles do you earn on a Scoot flight?

2.5 Elite miles for every KrisFlyer mile earned from the Scoot flight, provided the KrisFlyer number is in the booking at least 24 hours before departure. PPS Value is not awarded on Scoot-operated flights. [4]

Do you still earn miles when you pay with miles on Flyscoot.com?

Yes, on the portion paid with a credit or debit card. Miles are credited in proportion to the cash paid per ticket, excluding items such as airport taxes, e-visa, travel insurance and Scoot Protect, and a fare paid entirely with miles earns no Elite miles. [5] [7]

Can you book a Scoot flight with KrisFlyer miles over the phone?

No. Miles can be used for Scoot only on Flyscoot.com or the Scoot mobile app, not through the Scoot Guest Relations Hotline, KrisFlyer Membership Services or Singapore Airlines ticketing offices. [4] [7]

How long do Scoot miles take to show up in a KrisFlyer account?

Allow two to four weeks; if the miles are still missing after four weeks, a retro mileage claim can be filed within six months of the flight's completion. [4]
