How to get JetBlue TrueBlue upgrades and extra space
JetBlue TrueBlue upgrades are the extra-space and front-of-cabin benefits JetBlue gives to members of its TrueBlue programme: Mosaic elite members can select an EvenMore® extra-legroom seat at no charge, and Mosaic 3 and 4 members receive upgrade certificates that let them book a seat in the back and then move up to Mint® or BlueFirst™. [3] [5] Every one of these depends on availability at the time of selection, and Main Base fares are excluded from complimentary EvenMore seat selection. [3] [5]

Key takeaways
- EvenMore seat selection is a Mosaic Signature Perk: Mosaic 1 members can pick an EvenMore seat free from 36 hours before scheduled departure, while Mosaic 2 and above can do it during booking. [3] [5]
- Main Base fares are excluded from complimentary EvenMore seat selection and Preferred Main Seating, though EvenMore can still be bought on a Main Base fare. [3] [5]
- Mosaic 3 members receive 4 certificates to upgrade to Mint or BlueFirst at no extra charge, pending availability, and Mosaic 4 members receive 4 more plus 2 for every additional 100 tiles earned. [5]
- Free same-day switches and free EvenMore seat selection are separate benefits, and Base fares are not eligible for free same-day switch or standby. [5]
What upgrades does TrueBlue offer?
TrueBlue is JetBlue's free-to-join rewards programme, and Mosaic is the name of its top tiers of membership. [3] [5] Members reach Mosaic 1 with 50 tiles, Mosaic 2 with 100 tiles, Mosaic 3 with 150 tiles and Mosaic 4 with 250 tiles. [5] Tile balances reset to 0 on 1 January each year. [5]
For an ordinary traveller, the two upgrade routes that matter are a better seat within the main cabin and a seat further forward. EvenMore® is JetBlue's extra-legroom product, available on all JetBlue-operated flights, and seats in the first few rows of the plane — or the first few behind Mint® or BlueFirst™ — include it. [3] Separately, Mosaic 3 and 4 perks include certificates that let a member book in the back and then upgrade to Mint or BlueFirst at no extra charge, pending availability. [5]
EvenMore can be bought at the time of booking or added to an existing Main fare in Manage Trips or at check-in, and its price varies by route. [3] It can also be paid for with TrueBlue points or JetBlue travel credits when it is selected at the time of the original booking, but those payment methods cannot be applied if EvenMore is added later during seat selection. [3]
Do Mosaic members get EvenMore for free?
Yes. EvenMore is included as a Mosaic Signature Perk, and the timing differs by level. [3] [5]
| Mosaic level | Tiles needed | When EvenMore can be selected free | Companions covered |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mosaic 1 | 50 | From 36 hours before scheduled departure, pending availability | Member and 2 companions |
| Mosaic 2 | 100 | During booking, pending availability | Member and 2 companions |
| Mosaic 3 | 150 | During booking, pending availability | Member and 4 companions |
| Mosaic 4 | 250 | Includes all Mosaic 3 perks | Member and 4 companions |
For Mosaic 1, JetBlue says to pick any available EvenMore seat from the seat map when checking in online, in the app or at an airport kiosk from 24 hours before departure. [3] Mosaic 2 and above instead choose a Main fare — not Main Base — and add EvenMore during seat selection at booking. [3] Mosaic 3 members can extend free EvenMore seat selection at booking to up to 4 companions, and Mosaic 4 includes everything available at Mosaic 3. [5]
What does an EvenMore seat include and cost?
An EvenMore seat brings extra legroom and a seat toward the front of the plane, Group 2 boarding with dedicated overhead bin space, an expedited security lane at dozens of airports, and — on eligible flights — free beer, wine and liquor for passengers aged 21 and over plus a premium snack offering. [3] Transatlantic EvenMore passengers also get a main meal from NYC's Dig Inn and a pre-arrival light bite. [3] On flights under 250 miles, or flights with no inflight service, the free alcoholic drinks and premium snack offering do not apply, but the extra legroom, early boarding, front-row location, bin space and priority security do. [3]
The price of EvenMore varies by route, and you can see it by selecting EvenMore from the seat map during booking or check-in. [3] EvenMore Base fares are offered in select markets. [3] The three EvenMore fare options differ in flexibility and in the points they earn:
| Feature | EvenMore Base | EvenMore | EvenMore Flex |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seat selection at booking | No; at check-in, otherwise a seat is assigned | Yes | Yes |
| Changes | Fee applies | Included | Included |
| Cancellations | Travel credit minus fee | Travel credit | Refund to original payment |
| Same-day switches or standby | Fee applies | Fee applies | Included |
| Base TrueBlue points per $1 | 1 | 3 | 3 |
| Online booking bonus per $1 | 1 | 3 | 3 |
Changes are subject to fare difference and to the fare rules in force on the date of the change, and refunded funds are issued as a JetBlue travel credit valid for 12 months from the original ticketing date. [3] Booking on jetblue.com or the JetBlue app doubles the earn, giving a total of 6 points per dollar on Main, Main Flex, EvenMore, EvenMore Flex, Mint and Mint Flex fares and 2 points per dollar on Main Base and EvenMore Base fares. [6]
How do upgrade certificates to Mint work?
Mosaic 3 members receive 4 certificates that let them book in the back and then upgrade to Mint or BlueFirst at no extra charge, pending availability. [5] Mosaic 4 includes those and adds 4 more Premium Upgrade Certificates, plus 2 additional Premium Upgrade Certificates for every additional 100 tiles earned. [5] JetBlue notes that the number of certificates required to upgrade may vary based on the flight date and time. [5]
Mosaic members also choose Perks You Pick, one of which is priority access to Mint Suite selection on select aircraft, pending availability. [5] Mosaic Signature Perks apply on all JetBlue-operated flights, pending availability. [5]
Exceptions and limits
- Main Base fares. Main Base fares are not eligible for EvenMore upgrades or Preferred Main Seating, although EvenMore can be purchased on a Main Base fare by selecting it on the seat map. [3] [5]
- Base fares generally. Mosaic members still get at least one free checked bag, a carry-on and early boarding on Base fares, but Base fares are not eligible for free same-day switch or standby. [5]
- Exit rows are not EvenMore. Exit-row seats appear on the seat map as extra legroom seats and can be selected for an additional fee during booking, in Manage Trips or at check-in, pending availability; the fee is waived for Mosaic members, and these seats include extra legroom but not the EvenMore premium perks. [3]
- Seat fees. EvenMore seat fees are refunded to the original form of payment if you change or cancel your flight, and if JetBlue cancels for an operational disruption and cannot rebook you in an EvenMore seat; they are forfeited if you paid for EvenMore and later select a non-EvenMore seat, or if you pre-reserved EvenMore and do not show up without cancelling. [3]
- Benefits for companions. Mosaic benefits extended to others on the same reservation apply only if the Mosaic member is present at check-in with those travellers and completes all segments with them, and Mosaic benefits are not eligible on group bookings. [5]
- Seat and award availability. Seat selection is pending availability, and on redemption bookings inventory sits entirely at the operating carrier's discretion, is not guaranteed and can be modified at any time. [3] [4] Cash + Points redemptions are not available on award bookings operated solely by partner airlines, which require a 100% points redemption. [4]
