Which ANZ Rewards cards are there?

ANZ markets two personal rewards cards. ANZ Rewards Black is the premium card and is advertised with the highest ANZ Reward Points earn rate of any ANZ credit card, flexible ways to redeem points, complimentary insurances and a 24/7 concierge service. [3] ANZ Rewards Platinum is advertised with an uncapped ANZ Reward Points earn rate. [3]

Additional cardholders on either card pay an annual Additional Cardholder Fee of $10 plus an annual Rewards Program Services Fee of $55 per additional cardholder. [3] ANZ says these fees are current at the time of publication and are subject to change, and that the fee information shown applies to new customers only. [3] The ANZ Concierge Service is listed as available to both ANZ Rewards Black and ANZ Rewards Platinum cardholders, and ANZ may change, replace or withdraw that service with reasonable notice. [3]

How do you earn ANZ Reward Points?

ANZ Reward Points are earned and redeemed in accordance with the ANZ Rewards – Rewards Program Terms and Conditions booklet, and ANZ states that certain transactions and other items are not eligible to earn Reward Points. [3] Purchases made on the card account form the base of earning on both cards. [3]

From 28 October 2026 ANZ is introducing a cap on the total spend on eligible purchases that can earn ANZ Reward Points, announced alongside an increase to the cash advance fee from the same date. [3] Complimentary insurance arrangements also change from 9 December 2026 and 24 March 2027. [3]

Where a spend target applies to a card offer, ANZ defines eligible purchases by reference to the ANZ Credit Card Conditions of Use and excludes, for example, fees, cash advances, cash equivalent transactions, balance transfers, premiums paid for ANZ credit card insurance, transactions for gambling or gaming purposes, and reversed or refunded transactions. [3]

How do you redeem ANZ Reward Points for gift cards and partner points?

ANZ describes the rewards cards as earning Reward Points that can be redeemed for things like gift cards, cashback and partner points. [3] Minimum redemption thresholds apply, and an account holder must be a member of the applicable partner programme, with membership details entered online at the time of redemption, in order to convert ANZ Reward Points into partner points. [3]

ANZ refers cardholders to the terms of the partner programmes it lists for redemption, including Velocity Frequent Flyer, KrisFlyer, Air New Zealand Koru, Asia Miles, Everyday Rewards and World360 Rewards. [3] For Velocity Points, ANZ says to allow up to five business days for the points to be allocated, that once ANZ Reward Points have been redeemed they are governed by the Velocity Frequent Flyer terms and cannot be reversed, and that ANZ holds no responsibility for flight availability, which may be limited at the discretion of Virgin Australia and its airline partners. [3] ANZ directs cardholders to anzrewards.com for redemption details. [3]

Exceptions and limits

  • Bonus offer eligibility. ANZ Rewards Platinum offers are for new and approved applicants, limited to one offer per applicant, not available with other offers, packages or promotions, and not available when transferring from an existing ANZ credit card; ANZ may vary or end an offer at any time without notice. [3] Applicants who currently hold, or have held, an ANZ Rewards or ANZ Frequent Flyer credit card in the last 24 months are not eligible. [3]
  • Points offer conditions. The 85,000 extra ANZ Reward Points and $50 back require $3,500 of eligible purchases within the first three months from approval, and a further 40,000 extra points require keeping the card for over 15 months from activation. [3]
  • Velocity offer conditions. The 60,000 bonus Velocity Points and $50 back require card activation, the same $3,500 spend within three months of approval, and auto-redemption set up within three months of approval and kept on until the bonus Velocity Points are made available; a further 20,000 bonus Velocity Points requires keeping the card for over 15 months from activation. [3] A Reward Code is sent by SMS or email, may take up to 90 days from the criteria being met to arrive, and must be redeemed before the expiry date shown, otherwise the entitlement is forfeited. [3]
  • When bonuses are withheld. Bonus points and the $50 credit are not paid if the credit card is cancelled, suspended or transferred, or if the cardholder has breached the ANZ Credit Card Conditions of Use or the ANZ Rewards – Rewards Program Terms and Conditions. [3]
  • Insurance transition dates. Insurable events before 9 December 2026 fall under the booklet dated 7 June 2024, events on or after 9 December 2026 but before 24 March 2027 under the booklet dated 9 December 2026, and events on or after 24 March 2027 under the booklet dated 24 March 2027. [3]
  • Product switches. ANZ says cardholders who change from one ANZ credit card type to another are not eligible for promotional offers advertised on ANZ.com, which are available for new card applications only. [3]
