PROGRAMME PROFILE
ANZ Rewards: cards, points and redemptions
ANZ Rewards is the credit card rewards programme attached to ANZ's Australian consumer rewards cards, in which cardholders earn ANZ Reward Points on eligible purchases and redeem them for things such as gift cards, cashback and points in listed partner programmes. [1] [3]
Facts checked: 18 October 2026
Key takeaways
- ANZ's consumer rewards pages list two ANZ Rewards cards: ANZ Rewards Black, described as having the highest ANZ Reward Points earn rate of any ANZ credit card, and ANZ Rewards Platinum, described as having an uncapped earn rate. [1] [3]
- Both cards carry a total annual fee that bundles a card annual fee with a A$55 Rewards Program Service Fee. [1] [3]
- Redemptions are subject to minimum redemption thresholds, and redeeming for partner points requires membership of that partner programme, with the membership details entered online at the time of redemption. [1] [3]
- From 28 October 2026 ANZ is introducing a cap on the total eligible spend that can earn ANZ Reward Points. [1] [3]
What ANZ Rewards is
ANZ Reward Points are earned and redeemed in line with the ANZ Rewards – Rewards Program Terms and Conditions booklet, and ANZ's rewards page points readers to that booklet for the detail of what does and does not qualify. [1] [3] ANZ groups its consumer cards into low-fee or low-rate cards, rewards cards and frequent flyer cards, and places the ANZ Rewards cards in the middle group, where points can be used for gift cards, cashback and partner points. [1] [3]
ANZ Rewards is separate from ANZ's frequent flyer cards. The ANZ Frequent Flyer Black and Platinum cards earn Qantas Points under the ANZ Frequent Flyer Reward terms, and the account holder must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer member to earn and redeem them. [1] [3] This page covers the Rewards cards only; the Qantas-earning cards and their bonus offers are outside its scope. [1] [3]
The programme described here is the Australian consumer offering: the pages set out fees in Australian dollars, refer to ANZ's Australian credit licence, and state that applications for credit are subject to ANZ's credit approval criteria. [1] [3]
Card tiers, fees and limits
ANZ Rewards Black is presented as ANZ's premium rewards card, with the highest ANZ Reward Points earn rate of any ANZ credit card, flexible ways to redeem points, complimentary insurances and a 24/7 concierge service. [1] [3] Its minimum credit limit is A$15,000 and its total annual fee is A$375, made up of a A$320 Annual Fee and a A$55 Rewards Program Service Fee. [1] [3]
ANZ Rewards Platinum is described as having an uncapped ANZ Reward Points earn rate, with a A$6,000 minimum credit limit and a total annual fee of A$149, comprising a A$94 Annual Fee and a A$55 Rewards Program Service Fee. [1] [3] On either card, additional cardholders pay a A$10 annual Additional Cardholder Fee plus a A$55 annual Rewards Program Services Fee each. [1] [3]
ANZ states that these fees are current and subject to change, and that the fee information shown applies to new customers only. [1] [3] The pages describe the cards' earn rates only in relative terms — highest, or uncapped — and do not publish a per-dollar earn rate for either card. [1] [3] Terms and conditions, eligibility criteria, fees and charges apply, and applications are subject to ANZ's credit approval criteria. [1] [3]
Redeeming points and partner transfers
ANZ Reward Points can be put towards gift cards, cashback and partner points, and minimum redemption thresholds apply. [1] [3] The partner programmes named in ANZ's disclosure are Velocity, KrisFlyer, Air New Zealand Koru, Asia Miles, Everyday Rewards and World360 Rewards, each governed by its own terms, and ANZ directs readers to anzrewards.com for the detail. [1] [3] To redeem for partner points, the account holder must be a member of the applicable partner programme, and the membership details must be entered online at the time of redemption. [1] [3]
For Velocity specifically, ANZ says to allow up to five business days for the Velocity Points to be allocated, and that once ANZ Reward Points have been redeemed they are governed by the Velocity terms and cannot be reversed. [1] [3] ANZ states that it holds no responsibility for flight availability, which may be limited and is at the discretion of Virgin Australia and its airline partners. [1] [3]
ANZ also refers to an auto-redemption setting that automatically transfers ANZ Reward Points to Velocity Points; under its promotional terms the setting must be switched on via a link ANZ sends and kept on until the relevant bonus points become available for redemption. [1] [3]
Exceptions, dates and limits
- Earn cap from 28 October 2026. On and from that date ANZ is introducing a cap on the total spend on eligible purchases that can earn ANZ Reward Points, announced at the top of its rewards and credit card pages. [1] [3]
- Ineligible transactions. Certain transactions and other items do not earn Reward Points, and ANZ refers readers to the ANZ Rewards – Rewards Program Terms and Conditions booklet for the list. [1] [3]
- Other dated changes. ANZ flags increases to its Cash Advance Fee from 28 October 2026, and changes to complimentary insurance from 9 December 2026 and 24 March 2027. [1] [3]
- Complimentary insurance. Cover is issued as a group policy, and eligibility criteria, exclusions, limits and sub-limits sit in the ANZ Platinum and Black Credit Card Complimentary Insurance booklet; which version applies depends on when the insurable event happens — before 9 December 2026, from 9 December 2026 to before 24 March 2027, or on or after 24 March 2027. [1] [3] An excess may be deducted from a benefit, and ANZ does not guarantee the insurance. [1] [3]
- Concierge. The ANZ Concierge Service is available to ANZ Rewards Black and ANZ Rewards Platinum cardholders among others, and ANZ may change, replace or withdraw it on reasonable notice. [1] [3]
- Bonus offers. The Platinum card offers advertised at the time of checking were open to new and approved applicants, limited to one per applicant, unavailable with other offers or when transferring from an existing ANZ credit card, and open only to people who have not held an ANZ Rewards or ANZ Frequent Flyer card in the previous 24 months; ANZ may vary or end an offer at any time. [1] [3] Bonus points and cashback are not paid if the card is cancelled, suspended or transferred, or the card or programme terms are breached. [1] [3] ANZ also states that customers who switch from one ANZ card type to another are not eligible for promotional offers advertised on ANZ.com. [1] [3]
