Velocity Frequent Flyer

Velocity Points are redeemable; Status Credits are used for membership status. Eligible Virgin Australia fare earning depends on the ticket and booking date, while partners use separate rules. This profile separates the balance you can spend from the measures used for elite status.

  1. Before a flight, check the marketing carrier, operating carrier, fare and booking class.
  2. Keep the redeemable balance separate from the status measure listed below.
  3. Before booking, check award availability, fees and change conditions in the programme’s current search.

How flights earn

For eligible Virgin Australia domestic and short-haul international bookings from 2 April 2025, base points use eligible fare spend. Qualifying cardholders can earn a different rate. Partner and mixed-carrier trips use separate tables, and Lite fares can be excluded from bonuses.

Miles or points to spend

Velocity Points are used for rewards. Status Credits are a separate qualification measure.

Expiry

Points validity depends on the type of account activity. Longer-term qualifying activity can extend the balance further than some short-term activities; family transfers and family-pool activity may be treated differently under the terms.

What this profile does not establish

The checked source set does not establish these details: Elite status qualification. Use the current official programme terms for that rule; do not infer it from another airline.
