What benefits come with Aegean Miles+Bonus status?

Platinum benefits

Platinum includes free Standard, Up Front and Extra Legroom seat selection when the Miles+Bonus member ID is in the booking. [2] It adds a guaranteed Economy Class seat on AEGEAN and Olympic Air when a reservation is completed at least 24 hours before departure on Airbus aircraft, or 72 hours before departure on 72-seat ATR aircraft; DASH 8 100 (37 seats) and 48-seat ATR flights are excluded. [2] Members can request four free Business Class upgrades within the tier’s validity, subject to upgrade availability, online up to two hours before departure, with mileage accrual based on the fare originally purchased. [2] The tier also lists two extra checked bags, AEGEAN Business Lounge access in Athens, Thessaloniki and Larnaca when travelling with AEGEAN, Olympic Air or Star Alliance, and up to eight guests (nine passengers total) in the same booking and flight. [2] Other benefits include a complimentary Gold tier for one person for 12 months, 30% extra award miles on AEGEAN and Olympic Air, 3,000 birthday award miles, free Wi-Fi Stream on equipped flights to and from Greece, and free call-centre service for ticketing and changes. [2]

Star Alliance Gold benefits

The Star Alliance section of the Platinum page describes the privileges attached to a Star Alliance Gold card, including priority check-in and priority boarding. [2] It lists lounge access with one guest on the same flight at more than 1,000 airport lounges worldwide, regardless of travel class. [2] Extra baggage is 20 kg where the weight concept applies, or one extra piece where the piece concept applies, though some airlines offer it only on connecting Star Alliance flights; travellers should confirm with the operating airline. [2] On Aegean flights, all Star Gold holders can carry one additional piece free, 32 kg in Business and 23 kg in Economy, regardless of fare family. [2] The section also lists priority baggage, priority reservations waitlist and airport standby, Gold Track priority security and immigration at more than 130 locations, and a Business First Class upgrade on Heathrow Express trains. [2]

How are Tier Miles earned on AEGEAN and Olympic Air?

On the Platinum page, Aegean says only miles accrued through flight activity are calculated as Tier Miles. [2] The domestic earning tables for AEGEAN and Olympic Air set accrual factors by booking class, effective for bookings and rebookings as of 17 May 2023 and 16 May 2023 respectively. [4] [5] In both tables, Business Class booking classes C, D, Z and A earn 250% with a 2,500-mile minimum, while Economy Light booking classes U, P, T and E earn 30% with a 200-mile minimum. [4] [5] Miles are credited up until 60 hours after the flight; a rebooking uses the table in force on the last ticket modification date, and booking classes I, X, N and R are not eligible. [4] [5] Registered Together ForFamilies members receive 20% extra award miles, according to the table notes. [4] [5]

  • Platinum lounge guests must be in the same booking and on the same flight; a guest is anyone over 2, and infants under 2 may accompany an eligible member. [2]
  • Star Alliance extra baggage can be limited by some airlines to connecting Star Alliance flights, so the operating airline should confirm it. [2]
  • Members whose retention period ended on or before 4 November 2026 remain under the previous retention rules. [3]
