PROGRAMME PROFILE
Malaysia Airlines Enrich
Malaysia Airlines Enrich is the travel and lifestyle loyalty and frequent flyer programme of Malaysia Airlines, the national carrier of Malaysia and a oneworld member. [1] [2] [6] Members earn Enrich Points with Malaysia Airlines, oneworld airlines and lifestyle partners and can redeem them for flights, upgrades, hotel stays, lounge access, retail items and dining. [2] [6] The rules described here apply to Enrich only and vary by fare, route, cabin, partner and ticket currency. [5] [6]
Facts checked: 18 October 2026
Key takeaways
- Enrich is free to join and has four published membership tiers: Blue, Silver, Gold and Platinum. [2] [6]
- Enrich Points are the programme currency and can be earned with Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, oneworld member airlines and non-air partners. [2] [6]
- Earning on Malaysia Airlines and Firefly is fare-based; from 1 January 2026 the Enrich Points multiplier is 1.5 for Blue, 1.8 for Silver, 2.2 for Gold and 2.5 for Platinum on eligible spend. [5] [6]
- Elite status uses separate Elite Points based on distance and cabin, and the thresholds rose for 2027 qualification. [5] [6]
- Enrich Points are generally valid for three years from the year they are earned, but Enrich Points earned during Platinum status do not expire. [6]
Joining and account rules
Membership in Enrich is free and open to anyone aged two or over in countries and territories where such programmes are legal. [6] Applicants under 18 need evidence of parental or legal guardian consent, and corporations or other legal entities cannot enrol. [6] A member may hold only one Enrich account, which is not transferable. [6]
New members are placed in Enrich Blue, and since 1 March 2022 a member receives 500 Bonus Enrich Points on a first flight activity on pure Malaysia Airlines or Firefly flights within 12 months of enrolment. [6] An account with 36 continuous months of inactivity is closed automatically. [6] A closed account is not reinstated, and its activity and Enrich Points are not transferred to a new account. [6]
Enrich members who book eligible Malaysia Airlines fares on the Malaysia Airlines website or app while logged in can receive a 5% Always-On Discount. [6] The discount applies to eligible one-way and round-trip Malaysia Airlines-operated flights ticketed on MH (232) documents, is based on the base fare only, and does not cover taxes, surcharges or other charges. [6] It is not available for multi-city, open-jaw, mixed-airline, codeshare, partner-airline or redemption bookings, or in conjunction with promo codes or credit-card discounts. [6]
Earning Enrich Points
Enrich Points may be earned from qualifying services and products of Malaysia Airlines, oneworld airlines, airline partners and non-air partners such as banks, credit or charge cards, hotels, telecommunications providers, car-rental companies and retailers. [2] [6] On Malaysia Airlines and Firefly, earning since 1 April 2021 is based on the eligible fare paid and carrier-related charges, excluding government-imposed taxes and fees, for completed travel in Economy, Business or Business Suite on pure Malaysia Airlines-operated flights and Malaysia Airlines-marketed, Firefly-operated codeshare flights. [6]
The base fare is calculated in Malaysian ringgit, with MYR 1 earning 1 Enrich Point before tier multipliers. [6] Tickets bought in another currency are converted to MYR using an internal exchange rate based on the ticket-issue date, and discount vouchers or online promo codes are excluded from the base fare. [6] For flights flown from 1 January 2026, the multiplier is 1.5 for Blue, 1.8 for Silver, 2.2 for Gold and 2.5 for Platinum members on Malaysia Airlines and Firefly. [5] Flights flown by 31 December 2025 used multipliers of 1.5, 1.6, 2.0 and 2.2 respectively. [5] Points are credited by the travel date, not the booking date, and missing-points claims follow the structure in force on the travel date. [5]
Elite Points are different: they are earned on qualifying Malaysia Airlines, Firefly and oneworld flights and are calculated using Ticketed Point Mileage and cabin class. [5] [6] Non-oneworld and other partner flights are not eligible for Elite Points, and when flying oneworld, Premium Economy is treated as Economy and First Class as Business Suite for Elite Points calculation. [5] Bonus Points do not count toward Elite Tier Status but can be used for redemptions. [6]
Elite status
Elite Points qualify members for Enrich Silver, Gold and Platinum; they cannot be redeemed for awards or transferred, extended, purchased, sold or given to another member. [6] The terms describe Elite Points as valid in the calendar year they are earned, while a separate Tier Carry Forward rule lets excess Elite Points be carried once, capped at 50% of the requalification requirement. [6]
The 2026 membership-year thresholds were 30 Elite Points for Silver, 60 for Gold and 100 for Platinum, based on Elite Points earned in 2025. [5] The revised thresholds for 2027 qualification are 35, 70 and 140, applied to Elite Points earned from 1 January 2026. [5] Elite membership runs for the year of qualification plus the following calendar year, and failure to re-qualify each year results in reclassification to the next lower tier. [5] No automatic status extensions are offered. [5]
The 2026 benefits update gives Silver members 10 kg extra baggage allowance and priority baggage handling, and makes the Silver and Platinum Companion cards digital. [5] From 1 January 2026 only the principal Platinum member may bring one guest into eligible lounges; the Platinum Companion’s lounge access no longer includes a guest. [5] Fast-track status is exclusive to principal AmBank Enrich Visa credit-card holders, who receive a 30% reduction in required Elite Points, and the card is available only to Malaysian citizens and residents; no general status match is announced. [5]
Some tier benefits are narrower than they appear: incremental Silver benefits apply only on Malaysia Airlines flights, while travel on other oneworld airlines uses standard oneworld Ruby benefits. [5] On Firefly, standard Firefly baggage rules apply and Enrich benefits may not align. [5]
Redemption and points services
Enrich Points can be redeemed for Travel Awards and Lifestyle Awards. [6] A Full Points Travel Award can be booked on Malaysia Airlines, oneworld airlines or an airline partner, while a Points + Cash Travel Award is limited to Malaysia Airlines flights; applicable cabins are Economy, Premium Economy, Business and Business Suite. [6] Travel Awards follow the terms and conditions of the airline providing carriage, and Lifestyle Awards follow the terms of the non-air partner. [6] Dynamic Redemption sets the number of points needed for a flight according to the fare class available on that day. [6]
An Enrich Upgrade uses points in addition to the fare paid and excludes carrier-related charges, taxes, airport charges and other charges payable at the airport or at ticket issuance, which the member bears. [6] An Upgrade Travel Award is available only when a qualifying paid ticket is bought on solely Malaysia Airlines-operated flights, for Economy to Business or Business Suite, or Business to Business Suite, subject to eligible fare classes. [6]
The Enrich Points Pool, effective 15 August 2023, lets a Beneficiary aged 18 or over pool points with up to eight nominated Contributors aged two or over; the pool lasts five years and pooled points keep the Contributor’s original expiry date. [6] Only the Beneficiary can redeem the pooled points. [6]
Enrich Points Services let members buy, gift, extend and reactivate points through Enrich Online. [6] Those transactions are final, non-refundable and do not count toward Elite status. [6] Points due to expire within the next three months can be extended for 12 months at MYR 0.085 per point, and points that expired within the last three months can be reactivated for 12 months at the same rate. [6]
Exceptions and limits
- Enrich Points are valid for three years from the year they are earned and expire at the end of the month in the third year. [6] Enrich Points earned only during Platinum status do not expire even if the member is later reclassified to a lower tier; new points earned after a downgrade are valid for three years. [6]
- Purchased points are not transferable, exchangeable or extendable beyond the stated validity, and extension and reactivation windows are limited to points due within three months or expired within the last three months. [6]
- Government and airport taxes and fees are excluded from Enrich Points earning, as are amounts paid with discount vouchers or online promo codes. [5] [6] Base fare is calculated in MYR only, and non-MYR tickets are converted at the ticket-issue-date rate. [6]
- The Enrich Points Pool applies only to earned Enrich Points; it excludes bought, gifted, transferred, inherited and sponsorship points, and it does not apply to Elite Points. [6]
- The Always-On Discount excludes partner-airline, codeshare, Firefly and oneworld flights, as well as redemption tickets, multi-city and open-jaw itineraries. [6]
- Fast-track status is limited to principal AmBank Enrich Visa credit-card holders, and no general status match or automatic status extension is offered. [5]
