WestJet Rewards
WestJet Rewards is the programme for eligible WestJet travel. It now uses points, while tier qualification tracks spend separately; this page explains the distinction before you decide where to credit a flight. This profile separates the balance you can spend from the measures used for elite status.

- Before a flight, check the marketing carrier, operating carrier, fare and booking class.
- Keep the redeemable balance separate from the status measure listed below.
- Before booking, check award availability, fees and change conditions in the programme’s current search.
How flights earn
Earn WestJet points on eligible WestJet-marketed fares and qualifying add-ons. Government taxes are excluded; partner flights use separate rules.
Miles or points to spend
The spendable currency is WestJet points. Since 30 April 2025, points replaced WestJet dollars; each legacy WestJet dollar converts to 100 points.
Elite status qualification
Tier Qualifying Spend is tracked by calendar year and is separate from Milestone Qualifying Spend. Other benefits can use a different spend definition.
Expiry
Points have no fixed expiry while the account stays active. Twenty-four months without earning, redeeming, transferring or converting can make an account inactive; points and vouchers may then expire. Promotional points can have separate terms.
