PROGRAMME PROFILE
Qantas Business Rewards: business Qantas Points
Qantas Business Rewards is Qantas's loyalty programme for Australian businesses, which earns Qantas Points for the business on work flights and everyday business spending while each traveller also earns their own Qantas Frequent Flyer points and Status Credits for the same trip. [1] A business must be a member to earn points for the business, and a one-off joining fee of $89.50 including GST applies. [1]
Facts checked: 18 October 2026
Key takeaways
- Qantas Business Rewards is a business-level account: the business collects Qantas Points for eligible work travel and business spending, separately from what each traveller collects in their own Qantas Frequent Flyer account. [1]
- Joining costs a one-off $89.50 including GST, and Qantas says it may change that fee without notice; earning thresholds also apply. [1]
- A business account needs at least 3,000 Qantas Points before points can be transferred to an individual's Qantas Frequent Flyer account, and the same minimum applies to redeeming Classic Flight Rewards directly from the business account. [1]
What is Qantas Business Rewards and who can join?
Qantas Business Rewards is Qantas's programme for Australian businesses, and it runs alongside the personal Qantas Frequent Flyer programme rather than replacing it: the business and its travellers can earn points for the same trip. [1] Qantas describes the earning scope as flights plus everyday business expenses such as car hire, hotels, insurance and loans. [1]
To earn Qantas Points for the business, a business must be a Qantas Business Rewards member. [1] For points earned from flying, Qantas sets further conditions: the business must be registered for GST, or be an Australian public or private entity or other incorporated company, and it must not be a travel agent or on a Corporate Deal with Qantas. [1] Qantas asks businesses to use their ABN when joining. [1]
Joining carries a one-off fee of $89.50, inclusive of any applicable GST, which Qantas says may be varied from time to time without notice at its absolute discretion. [1] Travellers earn under their own Qantas Frequent Flyer membership, which also requires membership and may charge a joining fee. [1] [2]
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| One-off joining fee, including GST | A$89.50 |
| Minimum business balance to transfer points to a Qantas Frequent Flyer account | 3,000 Qantas Points |
| Minimum business balance to redeem Classic Flight Rewards from the business account | 3,000 Qantas Points |
How does a business earn Qantas Points?
Qantas lists more than 50 partners through which a member business earns Qantas Points, covering categories that include fuel, travel, credit card spend and office supplies. [1] Partners named by Qantas include ANZ, American Express, BP Plus, Westpac, Qantas Business Money, Live Payments, BizCover, NAB, B2BPay, Red Energy, Prospa and PowerPass Pro Rewards. [1] Each partner sets its own offer terms: under the Prospa business loan offer, for example, a linked business earns 1 Qantas Point per $1 of the disbursement amount up to 500,000 Qantas Points, credited at the fulfilment point and possibly taking up to 30 days to appear, with claims handled by Prospa. [1]
Points from flying are calculated from the airline earning table rather than a flat rate: the business's earn is a percentage earn rate applied to the number of Qantas Points a Bronze Qantas Frequent Flyer member would earn in the same booking class, including cabin bonus and any Minimum Points Guarantee but excluding bonus points, and the result depends on the business's flying Level. [1] Points are earned for each segment travelled. [1] For an eligible flight, both the business's ABN and the traveller's Qantas Frequent Flyer number must be quoted at the time of booking. [1] An eligible flight is a domestic or international flight with a Qantas QF flight number on the ticket, purchased in Australia, with a ticket number beginning 081, and booked and travelled for business on or after the date the business registered for Qantas Business Rewards. [1]
Member businesses also get flight and lounge savings: up to 10% off the base fare of selected flights, excluding taxes, fees and carrier charges, subject to limited availability and selected fares only, and up to 30% off Qantas Club Individual membership rates for Qantas Frequent Flyer members who are flyers of the member business. [1] Promotional offers change through the year; as of 18 October 2026 Qantas advertised double Status Credits, exclusive to Qantas Business Rewards, for businesses that register and book by 11.59pm AEDT on 20 October 2026, for travel between 21 October 2026 and 2 October 2027, with the traveller's Frequent Flyer number and the business's ABN quoted in each booking. [1]
How does a business use Qantas Points?
The business account can book flights, hotels and car hire in one place, and Qantas advertises tools for setting a travel policy, real-time reporting and tracking the business's flying and points activity, plus a Travel Fund that stores the value of flight changes. [1] Points can be spent directly from the business account on Classic Flight Rewards, Points Plus Pay bookings, Classic Upgrade Rewards, paid seat selection and additional baggage allowance when bought at the time of flight booking. [1] Classic Flight Rewards are available on Qantas, Jetstar and selected partner airlines, are subject to capacity controls, and require taxes, fees and carrier charges to be paid on top of the points. [1] Qantas also lists car hire and hotels, Qantas Club, wine and gift cards and Qantas Marketplace as ways to use points. [1]
Alternatively, points can be transferred from the business account into an individual's Qantas Frequent Flyer account, which requires a business balance of at least 3,000 Qantas Points. [1] Qantas recommends consulting an accountant or tax adviser to understand possible tax implications, such as fringe benefits tax. [1]
How is Qantas Business Rewards different from Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Qantas Frequent Flyer is the individual programme: its members earn and use Qantas Points across flights, hotels and accommodation, credit cards, banking and home loans, everyday shopping, insurance, home utilities, car, and holidays and experiences, drawing on more than 500 partners. [2] [3] In Qantas Business Rewards the points sit with the business, which can redeem them itself or move them to an individual's Frequent Flyer account. [1]
On the same eligible trip the traveller earns Qantas Points and Status Credits as a Qantas Frequent Flyer while the business earns Qantas Points separately, which Qantas describes as earning points twice. [1] Status Credits under the double Status Credits offer go to eligible Qantas Frequent Flyers rather than to the business. [1] A business credit card is a separate product: card spend is one of the partner categories through which a member business earns points, and Qantas advertises up to 200,000 bonus Qantas Points on a business card for new customers, with terms, fees and charges applying. [1]
Exceptions and limits
- Business points from flying depend on the booking meeting every condition in the definition of an eligible flight, and Qantas states that exclusions apply beyond the listed requirements. [1]
- Qantas Points and Status Credits may not be earned on some fare types and booking classes. [1]
- No Qantas Points or Status Credits are earned on Classic Flight Rewards. [1]
- Points Plus Pay is available on any flight with a Qantas (QF), Jetstar (JQ) or Jetstar Japan (GK) flight number and on selected partner airlines when travelling on a Qantas fare, as long as a seat is for sale; the points required include taxes, fees and carrier charges, are subject to change, are quoted at the time of booking, and a minimum number of points applies. [1]
- Qantas Points may not be earned on some fare types, or on some oneworld member airline or airline partner flights. [1]
- Member flight savings apply to the base fare of selected fares only, exclude taxes, fees and carrier charges, and are subject to limited availability. [1]
- The joining fee is set by Qantas and may be varied at any time without notice, and the Prospa offer may be varied, extended or revoked at any time, with fees and charges applying. [1]
- Points held by a business can carry tax consequences, which is why Qantas recommends taking accounting or tax advice before using them. [1]
