PROGRAMME PROFILE
Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge
Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge is the lounge benefit Vietnam Airlines sets out in its Lotusmiles tier comparison, where it appears as the Business lounge or Lotus lounge (phòng khách Thương gia / phòng khách Bông Sen) [6]. Access is published separately for Lotusmiles tiers, which Vietnam Airlines maps to SkyTeam status levels, and for SkyTeam's own alliance-wide lounge policy [6] [2].
Facts checked: 18 October 2026
Key takeaways
- Lotusmiles publishes lounge access for three tiers only — Million Miler, Platinum and Gold; the Titan and Silver columns show no lounge entry in the same row [6].
- Guest numbers differ by tier and by airport: three companions at Vietnamese airports and one abroad for Million Miler, one companion for Platinum [6].
- SkyTeam's own policy admits Elite Plus, First and Business Class customers, with one guest travelling on the same SkyTeam-operated flight [2].
Who the tier table admits
Lotusmiles presents its benefits as a comparison table across its five tiers, and lounge use is its own row in that table [6]. Three tiers appear with access: Million Miler, Platinum and Gold [6]. The Titan and Silver columns show no lounge entry [6].
Guest allowances sit in the same cell. Million Miler members may bring three guests at Vietnamese airports and one guest at airports outside Vietnam [6]. Platinum members may bring one guest [6]. No guest allowance is shown for Gold [6].
The table also fixes the alliance mapping: Titan and Gold correspond to SkyTeam Elite, while Platinum and Million Miler correspond to SkyTeam Elite Plus [6]. Members are told to carry identification, a boarding pass and their Lotusmiles card — the physical card or the electronic card in the Vietnam Airlines app — when using the benefit [6].
SkyTeam Elite Plus and cabin-based access
SkyTeam publishes a separate policy for more than 750 member lounges, open to Elite Plus, First and Business Class customers [2]. Reservations are not required [2].
By cabin. First and Business Class customers are admitted on a same-day international flight operated by a SkyTeam member airline, or with same-day transfers between flights operated by two SkyTeam members [2]. Access is given at the departure and transfer airports only, not on arrival, and from at least three hours before the scheduled departure time [2]. The boarding pass is shown to the lounge agent for validation before admission [2].
By status. Elite Plus members are admitted regardless of travel class on a same-day international flight operated by a SkyTeam member, or with same-day transfers [2]. Members connecting between two SkyTeam-operated flights keep access at the point of transfer [2]. SkyTeam adds that customers on a domestic-only itinerary may have access to select lounges [2].
Domestic flights. Since 1 April 2025, SkyTeam Elite Plus customers have had lounge access when travelling on domestic flights, currently at select SkyTeam member airline lounges and at more than 70 lounges, with more locations to be added gradually [2]. SkyTeam notes that lounge access may vary by airline and points customers to its lounge finder [2].
Guests and companions
Under SkyTeam's policy an Elite Plus member may invite one guest, who must be travelling on the same SkyTeam member-operated flight, irrespective of any preceding or onward flight [2].
Vietnam Airlines sets its own guest numbers. At Noi Bai, Da Nang and Tan Son Nhat a Million Miler member may bring three companions, and three at other airports in Vietnam, but only one at airports outside Vietnam [5]. Invited guests must enter the lounge at the same time as the member and must hold tickets on a flight operated by Vietnam Airlines Group or SkyTeam on the same day as the member [5].
On SkyTeam-operated flights, Million Miler members may invite one guest into a SkyTeam carrier's Business lounge or dedicated lounge, and that guest must travel on Vietnam Airlines or another SkyTeam carrier on the same flight as the member [5]. The same page offers Million Miler members a lounge award for three companions travelling on the same flight, at Vietnamese airports [5].
Partner-operated codeshares follow the same pattern in the Million Miler table: three guests are listed for Pacific Airlines flights at Vietnamese airports, and one guest for All Nippon Airways codeshares [5].
Airports, terminals and paid entry
Vietnam Airlines describes the benefit by airport group rather than by terminal. Hanoi (Noi Bai), Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City (Tan Son Nhat) are named individually, and the remaining cases are grouped as other airports in Vietnam and airports outside Vietnam [5].
On paid entry, SkyTeam says it is not currently possible to purchase lounge access through skyteam.com [2].
Exceptions and limits
- Airport upgrades. Vietnam Airlines states that the Business class baggage policy and the Business lounge are not applied to tickets upgraded at the airport [3]. That airport channel is limited to domestic Vietnam flights at Noi Bai, Da Nang and Tan Son Nhat, requested between eight hours and one hour fifteen minutes before departure [3]. Upgrades arranged online or at a ticket office list Business lounge use among the benefits received after upgrading [3].
- Select lounges only. SkyTeam's domestic benefit applies at select member airline lounges rather than at every lounge, and is being extended gradually [2].
- Separate domestic policies. SkyTeam warns that separate domestic lounge access policies may apply to members of Aerolineas Argentinas' Aerolineas Plus and Delta's SkyMiles [2].
- Delta Sky Clubs. Complimentary access at Delta Sky Clubs is no longer extended to Delta SkyMiles Diamond, Platinum and Gold Medallion members flying Main Cabin or Delta Comfort+ internationally, and from 1 January 2024 SkyMiles members in Basic Economy or equivalent partner cabins do not have Delta Sky Club access; Elite Plus members of other SkyTeam programmes are not affected, and third-party lounges are excluded [2].
- International travel. In SkyTeam's rules, international travel excludes journeys between the United States and the Caribbean [2].
- Tiers without access. Titan members appear in the Lotusmiles table without lounge access, and Titan is mapped to SkyTeam Elite, which SkyTeam's lounge policy does not list among its access groups [6] [2].
