PROGRAMME PROFILE
Air France lounges
Air France lounges is the access question this profile addresses: what a passenger flying Air France at Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) can establish about lounge entry from Air France's published programme material, and what that material leaves unstated.
Facts checked: 18 October 2026
Key takeaways
- They do document the programme behind the access question: flying on Air France-marketed flights earns Miles for Explorer members and Ultimate members. [5]
- La Première appears in partner and Flying Blue earning tables as a cabin with booking classes F and P. [3] [5]
- SkyTeam benefits are described for Flying Blue members in general terms only, without a list of lounges or entry conditions. [5]
What the Air France pages document
The most detailed Air France document checked is the Flying Blue earning page for Air France. It states that members earn Miles and XP on flights marketed by Air France, receive Elite Bonus Miles when they hold the matching status, and can earn Miles on paid extras such as upgrades, more comfortable seats, additional baggage and special menus. [5] It also refers to extended Miles validity, to using Miles for flights, Promo award tickets, upgrades and other paid options, and to SkyTeam benefits worldwide. [5]
Tiers and cabins behind the access question
Flying Blue has five named levels in the earning rates published for Air France: Ultimate, Platinum, Gold, Silver and Explorer. [5] On flights marketed by Air France, the earning rate depends on membership level. [5] Where a booking-class table applies instead — for tour-operator fares, and for Air France-operated flights marketed by Flying Blue partner airlines — earning combines distance flown, a booking-class percentage and any Elite Bonus. [5] On long-haul sectors, La Première booking classes P and F earn 550% and 350% respectively, while the lowest-earning Economy classes listed, Q, E, T, N, R, V, X and G, earn 25%. [5]
Three earning conditions matter when reading any access claim. Rail, bus and limousine services carrying an Air France flight number earn Miles, but a rail segment earns only when it comes before or after an international flight departing from or arriving at Paris CDG or Paris ORY. [5] Award tickets do not earn Miles at all. [5] Air France also applies minimum distances of 500 miles on domestic flights and 750 miles on international flights. [5]
Access rules: what is not published
Partner material covers earning rather than access. WestJet Rewards awards points on Air France-marketed flights operated by Air France or a subsidiary, based on distance flown plus a class-of-service bonus, and adds 50%, 75% or 100% for its Silver, Gold and Platinum members respectively. [3] Vietnam Airlines LotusMiles earns qualifying miles and qualifying segments on Air France flights according to booking class, including on flights operated by Vietnam Airlines or by SkyTeam carriers other than KLM that carry an Air France flight number. [4] Neither page says anything about lounge entry. [3] [4]
Exceptions and limits
- Earning on Air France-marketed rail, bus and limousine services is conditional: a train journey earns Miles only when it is attached to an international flight to or from Paris CDG or Paris ORY. [5]
- LotusMiles premium-economy multipliers on Air France apply only on long-haul flights, and award tickets booked in classes O and X earn no qualifying miles or segments. [4]
- WestJet points earned on Air France flights do not count toward WestJet tier or milestone qualifying spend, may take up to thirty days to post, and missing-claims requests are accepted up to six months after the flight date. [3]
- Air France's minimum-distance rules of 500 miles domestic and 750 miles international concern Miles rather than lounge access, and they do not support any conclusion about entry. [5]
