China Eastern Lounge
China Eastern Lounge refers to the lounges China Eastern operates at airports in the Chinese mainland, and the entry rules travellers can check before a flight.
Facts checked: 18 October 2026
Key takeaways
- Access follows the itinerary rather than the airport: under SkyTeam's published policy, First and Business Class customers and SkyTeam Elite Plus members qualify on eligible same-day flights and transfers. [2]
- Lounges are available at departure and transfer airports only, never on arrival, and the policy describes access at the departure airport from at least three hours before the scheduled departure time. [2]
- An Elite Plus member may bring one guest who is travelling on the same SkyTeam member-operated flight. [2]
What the published policy covers
SkyTeam says it offers lounge access to Elite Plus, First and Business Class customers at more than 750 lounges worldwide, and that reservations are not required. [2] The alliance states that lounge access cannot currently be purchased through skyteam.com and directs customers to a lounge finder for amenities and per-airport detail. [2]
Two limits in that framework matter when planning a visit. SkyTeam says lounge access may vary by airline and tells customers to check the lounge finder for the detail, and it adds that house rules apply to all guests and may be revised without notice. [2]
Access can also be tied to the operating carrier rather than to the airport. The joint SkyTeam and Global Lounge Network facility at São Paulo-Guarulhos Terminal 2, open 24 hours, is available to Elite Plus, First and Business Class customers flying on services operated by Air Europa. [2]
Cabin-based access
For premium cabins, the policy admits First and Business Class customers travelling on a same-day international flight operated by a SkyTeam member airline, or with same-day transfers between flights, domestic or international, operated by two SkyTeam members. [2] Access is provided at the departure and transfer airports only, not on arrival, and at the departure airport from at least three hours before the flight's scheduled departure time. [2]
Connecting itineraries carry extra conditions: both the domestic and the international flight must be operated by a SkyTeam member airline, and every segment must be booked in First or Business Class. [2] A domestic flight qualifies only where the itinerary includes a transfer from a domestic flight to an international flight, or from one domestic flight to another domestic flight followed by a transfer to an international flight. [2] The First or Business Class boarding pass must be shown to the lounge agent for validation before admission. [2]
Elite Plus access and guests
SkyTeam Elite Plus members are admitted whatever class they fly, on the same itinerary basis as premium cabin customers: a same-day international flight operated by a SkyTeam member airline, or same-day transfers between flights operated by two SkyTeam members. [2] The airport and timing limits are the same — departure and transfer airports only, not arrival, and from at least three hours before scheduled departure at the departure airport. [2] Members connecting between two SkyTeam-operated flights keep access at the point of transfer. [2]
Domestic itineraries are handled separately. A domestic flight qualifies where the itinerary includes a transfer from a domestic flight to an international flight, or a domestic-to-domestic flight followed by a transfer to an international flight, and customers on domestic-only itineraries may have access to select lounges. [2] Members show their boarding passes and a valid Elite Plus membership card for validation. [2]
Each Elite Plus member may invite one guest, who must be travelling on the same SkyTeam member-operated flight, irrespective of the guest's preceding or onward flights; the guest's boarding pass is presented at the lounge desk. [2]
Exceptions and limits
- Delta SkyMiles carve-outs. Complimentary access at Delta Sky Clubs is no longer extended to Delta SkyMiles Elite Plus equivalent members — SkyMiles Diamond, Platinum and Gold Medallion — when flying Main Cabin or Delta Comfort+ internationally, and from 1 January 2024 SkyMiles members travelling in Basic Economy or equivalent partner cabins have no access to Delta Sky Clubs; Elite Plus members of other SkyTeam member frequent flyer programmes are not impacted. [2] Delta SkyTeam Elite Plus members flying on Delta or another SkyTeam-operated flight can still use other SkyTeam member airline-owned lounges and SkyTeam branded lounges, while third-party lounges are excluded. [2]
- Separate domestic policies. SkyTeam notes that separate domestic lounge access policies may apply to members of Aerolíneas Argentinas' Aerolíneas Plus and Delta's SkyMiles. [2]
- Domestic access is recent and partial. Since 1 April 2025 Elite Plus customers have had lounge access on domestic flights at select SkyTeam member airline lounges, more than 70 of them, and SkyTeam says access will be extended gradually to more locations. [2]
- Geographic and lounge-specific limits. International travel in the policy excludes journeys between the US and the Caribbean, and the access policy for Virgin Atlantic's Clubhouse at London Heathrow Terminal 3 is published separately on virginatlantic.com. [2]
- Not published for China Eastern.
